Great smash burger from Matty Matheson! The burger sauce tasted just like a Big Mac but I didn't feel guilty about it at all. But I think the fries were the best part! I don't know what they were cooked in but boy they were better than the burger!

In a world overflowing with trendy smash burgers (Matty's does offer Oklahoma style), I appreciated the thick 7 ounce Matty's cheeseburger. Nice sear, perfect cook with a tender pink interior. I had it with bacon which was perfectly cooked for a burger topping. The sauce was mild and well balanced. Not as reminiscent of Big Mac sauce as some have said. The fries were basic, but made well and no complaints here.

It's always hit-or-miss for me with any burger joint that's gaining hype, and especially since this place is backed by a "celebrity chef," but, man, they make a good burger. This place definitely exceeded my expectations.

Matty got some good burgs!! Got both the Matty (big thick burg, bit of pink inside) and a double Patty (smash burg) and was very happy with both. Loads of cheese, good toppings, good amount of sauce, nice buns absofrickenlutely loaded with sesame seeds. The sauce is a mustard based sauce, very mustardy, but went well with the burg. I was worried about the pink inside the Matty, saw one pic on Google maps that looked way undercooked and gross, but there was only a bit of pink on ours, it was perfect, and it tasted really good. It was a nice thick tasty and messy burger. And the smash burgs had a good crisp on the edges and were well done smash burgs. Good times. Limited seating so get there early or at non busy times, or prepare to wait for a seat, there's a big park across the street with lots of benches so in nice weather you're covered.

Walked in was met with friendly staff, offering great recommendations, especially concerning the portions of food and the time/wait to cook it .

I ended up getting the double patty, burger, and a nice ale with fries .

You were able to sit and enjoy your meal and talk. The staff was incredibly kind.

Matty’s Patties sticks to a very stripped-down smashburger style — no lettuce or tomato on the menu. Normally that might bother some people, but I actually don’t mind it. The combo of cheese, mustard, pickles, and onions works well for me, and it lets the patty itself stand out. The burger has those crispy smash edges, good flavour, and that glossy cheese melt that ties everything together.

The fries were a pleasant surprise: generous portion, great seasoning, and a really satisfying crisp.

Overall, it’s a good burger spot. But in a city full of smashburger places, it doesn’t quite stand out enough to be memorable. Tasty, enjoyable, but not a game-changer.

I was very excited to finally get to experience the hype of Matty Matheson finest,
I was disappointed with the chefs attitude and disappointed with the quality.
I got the double smashed hamburger combo,
I wasn’t expecting my hamburger bun to look so different as advertised online and from pictures and videos. Our hamburger bun looked different from the couple that came in and ordered after us.
When I brought this up to the kitchen chefs attention he replied we were short on burger buns.
I was told we were given a two day old bun or else it would’ve gone in the garbage. That’s not right.
My fries were not hot, barely any salt and had no taste.
We spent over $50 for two hamburger combos. I would not return nor recommend.

I don’t understand the hype. I know they are known for their beef burgers, but I had the impossible burger due to dietary restrictions.

The buns they gave us were yesterday’s leftover buns that they bought as they ran out of their usual buns, as told by the staff. I understand they don’t want food waste, but it’s like McDonald’s running out of their signature buns and giving a grocery store one

The impossible burger has 2 mayo based sauces as well as cheese on it and ghee on the bun - I feel a full vegan option would make more sense as after taking everything off that I couldn’t eat, it was like eating a burger served from a high school cafeteria. Thankfully I got pickles

The fries were nothing special. The onion rings were good, nice and crispy

We had an amazing time here. The staff was very friendly, the place has a great vibe and you're able to get merchandise for the restaurant and Matty here. I usually like my burger cooked a bit more but it was still fantastic. Definitely coming back next time im in Toronto.

Great smash burger. Good crisp/char. Nothing complicated about the toppings which keeps the taste nice and simple. You need at least double to get meatiness. Loved the abundant sesame seeds bun but with a thinner patty, it is a little too much bun or you have to get more meat.

Not a very big shop (cozy seating) on a very busy street. I recommend if looking for a good smash burger. I hear they do their fries in beef tallow which is something to try next but the fries don't look fresh cut.

Uber Eats’ a couple of burgers from Matty’s and boy were we not disappointed. Even with the not being the freshest, we were impressed with how tasty and simple the burgers were. The fries were so delicious and we compared them to a less greasy McDonalds fries. I will return to Matty’s!!!

We had an impossible burger and a regular double cheeseburger and both were cooked to perfection! The sauce options in the burger were both delicious and the onion rings were super crispy. Very busy but only a 10 minute wait for our food! Great spot for a great burger :)
