We were pleasantly surprised and how neat this place was! First off, we were thrilled they were open on July 4 and that they are pet friendly.
Our 15 year old daughter, my husband and I enjoyed looking at all the RVs and motor homes. We could go in about half of them, which was really fun.
We also enjoyed the beautiful manufactured homes.
We did not have time to check out the upstairs or the library.

We are RVers and loved this museum! They had some really fun RV displays you could tour and it was pet friendly. We were able to bring our cats in in their stroller to get them out of the hot truck. Don't waste your time on the 1 star reviews they are laughable.

What an amazing way to see how modern technology and craftsmanship has improved in the RV industry. Highly recommend anyone to go and see this place for yourself. Absolutely loved seeing the history and being able to see firsthand how RV's looked back in the day.

It was cool to see some of the old designs. It’s a disappointment that the modern section was closed, yet we still had to pay full price to get in to the museum . There was no sign stating part of the museum was closed for upgrades. Why do you places do this? Do you think we’re not paying attention? We didn’t get the full experience, but I sure paid for it. Bottom line I wouldn’t go out of my way to get here if you’re in the neighborhood great but that’s about it.

Love regional museums and this one is unique: not just a historical collection (although it does that well) but a promotion for a still-thriving USA industry--all centered at the proud city of Elkhart.

Visited again Nov 2025. Still enjoyable and too much for one interior design nerd to cover in one visit. :)
I brought my lens to capture space, in Elkhart's hall of RV grace. The modern homes stood crisp and clear, with neutral tones from floor to rear.
These vintage vans showed me the way: how home should feel from day to day. Their amber glow and wooden beams, now shape my own house warming dreams.

Fascinating place. Really great to see how early visionaries built and used campers from early 1900’s to today’s luxurious mobile homes. We’ve come a longggggg way pilgrim

Had never been here and thought we'd check it out. Very interesting going through the theater history. How trailers are made section. Never thought of what all goes into building them. We then went through the vintage campers and trailers. Some were before our time but some we actually reminded us of our camping days. And then the modern tech area. The covered wagons to space age... "from wags to riches". Wow. Truly a house on wheels. Fun place and we will tell our friends.

So I'm big on RVs so this was amazing. I went in a Wednesday and Thursday. The guy at the desk was amazing and made my visit even better. He took the time to talk about the list of restaurants in the are and things to do. This spot is also a host for Harvest Host, so get in your RV and take a ride. You can stay on site for at least 1 night and hookup for a fee. I recommend visiting the home of RVs and take a trip down memory lane at the RV museum.

If you RV, this is a really cool place to visit. It's like a showroom with restored RVs from the last century that you can walk through. Even our grumpy children enjoyed it. Comically large parking lot.

Absolutely loved this place. It is well worth the stop and the admission price. I spent about two hours working my way through the exhibits in both museums and checking out the Hall of Fame and research library. As a FT vanlife gal, the RV side made me ridiculously happy - each rig was more fun than the previous all the way through. Great storytelling and history all the way around. This is clearly a labor of love. Those who like history and life on the road will be enchanted.
