I’ve been a patient of Dr. Leguerre’s for about 10 years. Over those years he has helped me manage chronic pain resulting from compression fractures in T-10 and T-11 and pain from a liver transplant that was followed by open heart surgery in a 5 month span. He is very easy to talk to since he breaks problems down into normal language, not medical jargon. He listens to my concerns and answers my questions to my full satisfaction. I highly recommend Dr. Leguerre if you have pain that you can’t control.

I was referred to this location after visiting the Lake Norman ER due to my chronic back pain. A representative from Duke Health called me about a week before my appointment to gather my insurance information and schedule my visit. During this call, I mentioned that I was new to the area and unsure of the facility's location. I requested access to the MyChart system, but I was informed that they could not provide it until the day of my appointment since I was new.

When I inquired again about the location, I was given the facility's old name, which caused confusion on the day of my appointment as I ended up at the wrong place. Their automated system does not include their address, and I did not receive any texts or emails with the address information. As a result, I arrived seven minutes late to my appointment after calling the number back from the automated message. thankfully, it connected me to them. Don’t know what I would’ve done if it didn’t. After checking in, I was provided with paperwork to fill out, which I wished could have been done online to expedite my appointment.

Once I was taken in, the check-in nurse was amazing—personable, relatable, and empathetic. Unfortunately, my appointment with the nurse practitioner did not meet my expectations. I felt that she did not fully understand my situation as a mother of three children under three years old, living in a new state. I had hoped to receive recommendations more tailored to my needs, but instead received a generic response.

Ultimately, I was advised to start physical therapy, which I explained would be challenging for me as a full-time mom. I was then asked if my husband would be able to help, which seemed irrelevant since I am the primary caregiver. There was little understanding of my circumstances, and by the end of the appointment, I was handed an exercise packet without being shown how to correctly perform any of the exercises. Although I was told to begin physical therapy, I did not receive any information about a physical therapist.

My appointment lasted nearly two hours, and I requested an MRI afterwards.

Overall, I was unsatisfied with my visit and will seek treatment elsewhere.
