After living 40 years, my first visit to bag of oil that was 100% hit I would absolutely say this was one of the best bagel in Toronto. Cindy, the front of the house manager today was excellent and even Jayna our weight staff was amazing so they got a great thing on great food. Great price thank you bagel world.

We are regular customers here and often come for breakfast. We’ve always enjoyed the food and service, and we consistently tip. We even tip Uber Eats and food delivery drivers regularly because we understand how much work goes into service roles.
During a recent visit, we were part of a group and someone else paid the bill. That person, who is younger and just starting out financially, did not leave a tip. Afterward, the waitress approached them and asked why they did not tip.
The guest who paid was polite, chose not to respond, and simply left. However, being questioned like this felt extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate. Tipping is not a right or an obligation—it is a personal choice, and there can be countless reasons why someone may or may not tip on a given day. Customers should never be asked to justify themselves.
What made this even more upsetting was the feeling that this confrontation may not have happened had we been people of a different colour. Whether intentional or not, that is how the interaction felt, and it left us feeling singled out and disrespected.
We hope management addresses this, as confronting guests about tipping—especially regulars—is unprofessional and creates an environment where customers feel judged rather than welcomed.

I asked for a half rye with seeds sliced, 6 poppyseed bagels and some cream cheese. She said “rye bagels?”
I said poppyseed bagels, the order was filled. In my opinion, these bagels are too big. They have good flavour and texture, but too much dough.

Surprisingly great! 😁✅ Their breakfast menu is expansive, but still doesn't stray from what makes this place good: their bagels. While I still prefer another bagel place, this one is a solid #2. Fantastic service and comfy morning vibes. Loved the freshly squeezed orange juice!

There is no error going on Bagel World. The food is always fresh and tasty, the service is great and the prices are fair.
The bagels are also on a different level and worth a stop. The variety is also great.
No matter if you will dine in or take out, I am sure you will get a quality food all the time.
Free parking available in front of the store, but a little busy as it shares with other businesses around.

My husband and I have been going to Bagel World for over a year now every weekend, and it’s something we always look forward to. The bagels are the BEST, always warm and fresh. Even the plain bagels are to die for. They are very generous with the servings / toppings. We cannot forget the sweet treats they have as well… the chocolate cup cakes are one of our favs! Can’t forget the welcoming staff too. Thank you Bagel World 🙏🥯❤️

Bagel World in Toronto, ON, Canada. Rated #1 by Post City Magazine, I had to try. Of course I’ve tried a Montreal style bagel in Montreal, but I never had a New York State style bagel in Canada! I felt right at home-the fluffy big bagels, the lox and the hot coffee. The bagels are all made from scratch everyday, baked fresh, and boiled the traditional way to get that perfect flavor. Coming here for the first time to try out their world, famous bagels. It was a very memorable experience. They had the feeling of visiting a real bagel shop where you can pick out and choose some of the best quality and high ingredient bagels that are available.
Turning to the location it is located in a more rough part of the city but overall when you’re coming to get a bagel that is at the price point that they’re giving it out as well worth it. I did become aware that this is a very iconic location to people have been coming for years and years to come get their favourite bagels.
I’d come and visited to try the bagels that they had and also got to try some of the other things they also offer like their orange juices, their dips, and also their salads. And also they offered these mini bagels, which were amazing. Overall service was fast and accommodating. With plenty of seating the locations pretty big so you have a lot of choices. The price of all the food was being served. That was very competitive I believe, and I definitely will be coming here to try the other options that they do have.
Service overall was fast too and I believe that the options that they have are very cool with the combinations, adding up to a very memorable experience .

Terrible service, bad presentation. Very small menu choices. I sincerely doubt that the bagels are the best in Toronto.

Went to bagel world today, July 19 ordered two omelettes one had hair in it I told the waitress that there was hair in the food she said did I want something else? I said I would take some tuna. Instead, they brought one scoop of tuna and charged me for the omelette. The tuna was eight dollars. The omelette was 1599 avoid this place it’s horrible dirty and they don’t care about anything else except making money. They never did the right thing to take it off my bill. To top it all off the hair was black and short and their cook has black hair and a short my hair is blonde.

The service is going downhill. As it was crowded on a Saturday I asked if I could sit at the lunch counter where another single diner was sitting. After 10 minutes of sitting without anyone coming to get me water or coffee, I left. It seems the older servers who have been so pleasant to people for years are being put on other shifts, replaced by friends of the manager who think they will get bigger tips prejudging clients. I went to Starbucks instead where the model was ‘serve customers’ not ‘ignore customers’

Bagel World has been an institution for many years. The only things that have changed is the price & servers.
2 scrambled eggs, tea & a gluten free bagel is $13.00
which I thought was a bit steep for the service & surroundings.
The servers are rude & rush you even when your not in a hurry & would like to relax. The bagel came 5 minutes after the egg. I asked for marmalade bc I don’t eat butter. She forgot it, instead
gave me butter, jam & peanut butter. I had to get up & ask for it, she was too busy with the cash register!
The only time she was pleasant, was when I asked for the check
Suddenly she smiled, obviously waiting for a tip.
I won’t be going back anytime soon!
