Recognizing the growing need for physicians trained in this essential specialty of care, she established the Fellowship Training Program in 2008 with the aim of expanding the number of dedicated low vision experts in the field to care for the growing population with vision loss. This unique program has trained nine low vision physician-scientist and remains the only program of its kind in the U.S.An Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Goldstein is the Director of the Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center and previously led the Low Vision Research Network, a collaborative network whose research focused on measurement of low vision rehabilitation outcomes.
