He completed his internal medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and fellowship in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins, where he received an M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He teaches in the Curriculum Development for Medical Education faculty development program at Johns Hopkins Bayview and has advised on educational projects for an NIH-funded curricula related to research ethics in Malaysia, injury prevention and control in Vietnam, and entrepreneurship for substance use disorder scientists in the U.S. His research has focused on educational technologies and the regulation of medical education, especially the globalization of medical school accreditation.
