I can’t say enough good things about Grand Animal Hospital in Gurnee! Dr. Mak, along with Jodi and Julissa, were absolutely incredible. They were all so kind, patient, and gentle with my cat , Rosie. They took the time to answer all my questions, and they really helped ease my anxiety. I’m so grateful to have found them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet! 💕💕

Truly, a 5-star experience. Thank you to Dr. Milsna for accepting Esther as a new patient. Staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. Prices are reasonable and they only sell you what you need here. Which, I greatly appreciate.

First and foremost this vet has gone downhill in the last year. I've been a long time pet parent of a cat that went there (they will no longer after the last visit)

I called an made an appointment back in February, that was scheduled for early March, I went in and I was NOT on the schedule for the day. So I rescheduled, this time I called to be sure I had an appointment. I did NOT, yet again. How hard is that? After the third attempt I should've known what I was walking into... A disaster.

I'm sorry they CHARGE you 75 dollars to make an appointment? That is RIDICULOUS. Please don't say it's because they need to exam my animal, since they charged me an additional fee for that. That is not care and compassion, that is greed! I usually spend around $100-$150 for a visit, this time was 350 DOLLARS!

The vet tech I had was nice, but the vet was not personable. Accused my cat of peeing, when they didn't. Hardly said two words to me. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Please reconsider taking your pet to this place. I will be taking my cat to where my other cat goes. Reasonable, friendlier and has better reviews than this place. Overpriced/greed is what this place has become!

I’ve been a long-time client and have valued having a primary veterinarian for my pets, which is why this experience has been so disappointing.

Every single time I have called with an urgent concern, I have been told there was no availability and directed to an emergency clinic, without even being offered a next-day appointment. Most recently, my senior dog was clearly in pain and uncomfortable, but not experiencing a life-threatening emergency, and I was again sent elsewhere. I understand clinics are busy and staffing can be challenging, but it’s difficult to reconcile this consistent pattern with being an established client at a primary care practice.

What was especially concerning during this most recent call was that no follow-up questions were asked about my dog’s symptoms before I was told nothing could be done. I was hoping for at least basic triage guidance, even if the final recommendation was still emergency care. Being unable to discuss symptoms or urgency left me feeling unsupported during a very stressful situation.

The clinic’s website states that urgent care and same-day appointments are offered when possible. While I understand availability can vary day to day, this messaging does not reflect my repeated experiences and contributed to confusion about what level of care is realistically available.

The emergency veterinarian later diagnosed a strained muscle, and thankfully my dog is now doing well. However, having to rely on emergency services for issues that may be manageable in general practice has been emotionally stressful and financially difficult.

I hope the clinic reevaluates how urgent calls from established patients are handled and improves communication about what care can realistically be provided. Pet owners depend on clear guidance during moments when their animals are in pain.

This would have been easier to understand if it were an isolated situation, but it has been a consistent pattern.

We didnt know we needed an appointment, came in with our injured kitty and they took us in right away!! They were supper kind and made us and pet feel welcome. Its one of those place that you know and feels like a safe environment and you can trust your loving pets with! If they treat me and respect me they definitely will do the same with my pets, you know! They have 3 new customers i will be bringing all my pets here for shots and check ups!

All my cats are being taken care of by Dr. Mlsna at Grand Animal Hospital. She’s attentive, detailed, soft-speaking. She would point things I should be aware of or be recommended of, but she never forces on me. It’s close to my home so the drive will not be a nightmare to my cats. The cost is not on the low end but charged as what they would as a boutique animal clinic. I am willing to go to a place that’s run efficiently and know my animals well.

First time visiting with my cat illy, and it was such a great an experience right from the start. I sent a message on the website regarding the issues he was having. I was contacted back same day, and scheduled for a visit within the same week. We walked in and everyone was VERY nice, friendly and professional. I’ve never seen my cat be so calm at a vet’s visit. 20/10 LOVE IT! Thank you so much! You guys are awesome!😻
