Dr. Daoud is an associate professor of ophthalmology and he is the clinic director of the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine's Columbia office. He is internationally known for his surgical skills especially in complex cornea transplants and management of challenging cataract surgeries. He has special interest in managing complications of previous cataract and cornea surgeries. Dr. Daoud is a highly published author and editor in multiple leading ophthalmology journals. He routinely lectures nationally and internationally. Dr Daoud is the chair of the Wilmer Eye Institute's Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery Committee. He currently leads a group of researchers to improve ocular health and incorporate evolving technologies to improve ocular surgery outcomes. Dr. Daoud received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. He was selected to the prestigious Doris Duke Fellowship where he obtained a clinical research fellowship under the mentorship of the world renowned Dr. C. Stephen Foster at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He completed an internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was the recipient of the “Best Bedside Skills” Teamwork Award.
