She completed Internal… Dr. Marvel received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, graduating with honors, and earned her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine, graduating with the Dean’s Award for recognition of her outstanding performance. She completed Internal Medicine residency and was selected to serve as Chief Resident at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Marvel also pursued advanced training in technology innovation, implementation, and business development through the Johns Hopkins HEXCITE (Excited for Healthcare) Accelerator Program. Additionally, Dr. Marvel completed the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality Leadership Academy, where she developed expertise in quality improvement science, implementation methodology, and high-reliability healthcare systems. Dr. Marvel is the co-creator of the Corrie App, a digitally enabled platform designed to support patient engagement and real-world implementation of evidence-based cardiovascular care and guidelines. Dr. Marvel’s excellence has been recognized consistently throughout her career. At Johns Hopkins she was inducted as a member of the Johns Hopkins Alpha Omega Alpha professional medical organization and honor society. She has received numerous awards for clinical excellence, quality improvement, and healthcare transformation from Johns Hopkins, American Heart Association, and American College of Cardiology. Dr. Marvel has co-created 2 mobile apps, co-authored a book, co-authored several book chapters and written over 70 peer-reviewed publications in premier journals such as Circulation, Nature Reviews Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, Annals of Internal Medicine, and the American Journal of Preventive Cardiology, highlighting sustained impact in cardiovascular prevention and digital health. She serves as Associate Editor for American Heart Journal Plus and as Section Editor for Digital Health at the Journal of the American Heart Association, reflecting national recognition of her expertise. As Section Editor for Digital Health at the Journal of the American Heart Association Dr. Marvel has co-authored editorials with Nancy Brown, President of the American Heart Association on transformative cardiovascular care.
