It was here from the 1940s to the 1970s that my grandmother, Sophia, operated the Central Cafe. My mother, Georgia, and her siblings grew up working at the Central Cafe in the Atrisco barrio. There they developed a love of chile while learning how to run a great restaurant. The Atrisco Cafe & Bar benefits from the wisdom of my mother, my father, Richard, and my aunts and uncles, as they owned and operated the Mayflower Cafe, Tomasita’s, Tia Sophia’s, and Diego’s. For over 50 years, our family has relied on simple recipes, quality ingredients, and friendly service. Read more

Best meal of our Southwest trip so far. Real New Mexico fare done right. Had the Atriscombo, which was all good. Green chilies, red chilies, tasty beef tacos. Good margaritas at a very reasonable price. For Santa Fe, phenomenal food and phenomenal value. So glad Carl at The Hilton Vacation Club up the street told us about it, as it was not mentioned in the guide.

I sat at the bar and Brenda was extremely attentive and gave outstanding service and recommendations. I was visiting from Texas and was not disappointed at all. Definitely recommending this place to anyone who asks.

Menudo, carne adobada, pozole, and sopaipillas with honey butter. Who would have guessed you could eat tripe in a mall restaurant in the US. Well you can in Santa Fe, at Atrisco. My kind of restaurant: unpretentious local specialties. It's getting harder and harder to find a restaurant in the US, or anywhere for that matter, where the menu doesn't have the same cliches you find everywhere. The more I know the South and the Southwest, the more I like it.

First time coming for breakfast at Atriscos. My family has been coming here for decades. Loved my plate and enjoyed it to the last bite. Will be bringing my mom back to enjoy this breakfast.

If you're looking for a popular Santa Fe dining spot for New Mexican food that serves large portions of very flavorful delights, including a sopaipilla which will make you very happy, and that has reasonable prices, you have found it at Atrisco Cafe and Bar.
Only a little outside of the downtown area of Santa Fe, this place is right inside of a strip mall area and moves very quickly. Highly recommend getting yourself on a waiting list as you are getting near to the restaurant.
We had some chile rellenos and enchiladas and a nice hard shell taco taco, as well as soapaipillas. All were excellent.
The service is really good as well. And if you're lucky, you can see one of the servers line plates in his arm from his shoulder to his hand - it's really cool.
Highly recommended, enjoy it.
