One experience, in particular, speaks volumes. While we were visiting another state, my husband became seriously ill. We went to the emergency room, where he underwent extensive testing and was referred to five specialists, resulting in twelve follow-up appointments. Despite countless hours, invasive tests, and hundreds of dollars in copays, we left that entire ordeal without a definitive diagnosis. Eventually, my husband recovered on his own.

Months later, the exact same symptoms returned after we were back home. Dr. Takem immediately obtained the electronic medical records from the prior episode, carefully reviewed all test results, and brought my husband in right away for targeted confirmatory testing. Within 30 minutes, Dr. Takem had a definitive diagnosis. My experience as a new patient was excellent. The appointment was well organized, and the staff was professional, courteous, and welcoming from the start to finish. The doctor took the time to listen to my concerns, explained everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable and respected. I did not feel rushed and all of my concerns were addressed thoroughly. Overall, it was a great visit and I am confident in the care that I received and I will refer my co-workers and friends.

I came to this office for a new patient visit hoping for a thorough annual physical and help with knee pain after my husband appreciated his experience with Dr. Takem. Unfortunately, my experience was very different, disappointing and uncomfortable.

The office felt outdated and was filled with posters promoting the doctor’s book, which set a self-promotional tone. Instead of focusing on my health concerns, the doctor made repeated comments about my appearance, such as telling me I looked “16” even though I’m 35, and that I would “look like I did in high school” after losing weight. These comments felt unprofessional.

The majority of the appointment was focused on weight loss, and the doctor never addressed my actual reason for the visit (my knee pain).

Most concerning, during the exam he inappropriately placed his stethoscope which felt unnecessary, invasive, and left me very uneasy.

Overall, I did not feel respected or properly cared for. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for professional, thorough, and patient-centered care.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Takem monthly for well over a year now, and he is excellent! My previous primary care doctor told me after my annual physical—when my cholesterol came back high—to just cut back on egg yolks and come back next year(I rarely eat eggs) Then I came to Dr. Takem, and he put me on a real plan that has all my numbers trending in the right direction. He’s truly changed my life, and I’m very grateful for him.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Takem recently, and it was a really positive experience. As a new patient, I was a little nervous, but the entire visit was smooth from start to finish. The front desk staff was kind and helpful, making check-in quick and easy.

Dr. Takem took his time to get to know me and actually listened to what I had to say. He was thorough, easy to talk to, and made sure I understood everything we discussed. I never felt rushed or dismissed, which I really appreciated.
