⚠️ Gross Incompetence & Predatory Billing ⚠️Do not trust this shop with your Truck. When diagnosing a parking brake issue on my 2000 Volvo VNL, the service manager, the shop foreman, and the mechanics assigned to my truck proved they are completely clueless. They claimed that if the issue was the parking brake valve inside the cab, it would take "at least 5 hours of labor just to get to it because they would have to tear out the entire dash." This is completely false. I had to step in, correct their bad diagnosis, and tell them it was actually just the frame-mounted brake relay valve. To make matters worse, they run a massive labor inflation racket. They billed me a staggering 10.5 hours at $189/hour for a routine replacement of 2 brake pots, the relay valve, and one bad brake hose—a job that standard industry repair guides flag at 4-5 hours maximum, even with the hose. When confronted, they used replacing the simple brake hose and "extra diagnosis time" as an excuse for the inflated hours, which is completely ridiculous given I had to diagnose the truck for them. They also tacked on an aggressive, uncapped 10% shop fee of nearly $200. When challenged with industry-standard book times, management flat-out refused to adjust the invoice and claimed it was "fair." If you don't know your own truck, this leadership team will exploit you. I am currently taking this shop to the Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) to recover my money.Commercial drivers and fleet owners: STAY AWAY. The service manager and shop foreman lack basic truck knowledge, and they will double your bill with imaginary hours. If you value you hard earned money and need a a professional job doing go ANYWHERE else but TRUCK ZONE!

Where do I start with this heavy duty trucking outfit. Best advice steer clear away from them. Prepare yourself for a bunch of lies from the service department with hidden costs. Woman is clearly doesn't know anything about customer service or the trucking industry. The parts department is meh, very mediocre compared to our heavy duty truck parts departments in town. No one looks happy here. Customer service you get better at 7-11. And a grouch of a woman that answers the phone. I would change that with someone with a personality. Surprised this place continues to exist in our community. People talk in Nanaimo and Truck Zone is a laughing stock of it's former company Shaffer's Equipment. People cared than. To the owner and their review I came in with a paying customer and observed the environment while waiting on him recently. Not a attack or insult, sharing what I had seen. I'm happy I drive a Western Star is all I'm saying, better service.
