A friend of mine turned me on to this place several years ago. It's real hidden gem on a stretch of Bloor just east of Bathurst. Lots of great little shops nearby, as well as Honest Ed's just 2 blocks west.

If you're craving gourmet food this isn't the place. The food is very traditional Hungarian. That is, totally delicious food and enormous portions served on platters because regular dinner plates wouldn't hold it all.

A couple of things you'll want to try...

First, the kapusta. In English, Cabbage Rolls. Now, don't be fooled by the menu. It say's "2 cabbage rolls" for about $12. Don't plan on eating both yourself. They're huge, and awesome.

The Chicken Schnitzel is amazing. The portion is larger than some developing countries. Even on the platter it'll hang over the sides. Swap the mashed potatoes out for homefries. Very tasty. Make sure you add a család uborka. I don't know what they use for the dressing but it's terrific. I've never been able to reproduce that taste though I've tried.

Last, if they have it available on the day you visit, try the Pörkölt. It's a bit spicey, but this pork dish - loaded with spicy paprika, is truly a wonder of the modern world. Ask for a side of dumplings.

Whatever you decide to have, you can forget about eating for 2 days thereafter. The food is just so plentiful and filling.
