Cant recommend enough. Just got our Golden doodle pup back from training. He went from a high energy terror on 4 legs to a high energy but well behaved dog. He’s mastered all the basic commands as well as elimination of troublesome behavior such as counter surfing, jumping on people, and obeys commands easily when he steals one of my kids toys. Highly recommend and well pleased with the service Michael and Pat provided.

The malinois on the right in the photo of the 3 is the one we got from Wolfsbane K9. NOT the pretty one on the left (just to clarify from the start). I hate writing bad reviews and honestly never planned to. We’ve had Thora nearly a year now and have invested 10K in her at this point between purchase and training. She’s very sweet, so we love her, but she’s FAR from a high quality dog and the opposite of what we asked for or expected to get.

From the offset, we felt communication was poor with Michael. Based on their website we put a deposit down way in advance because that’s what it seemed like we should do to have one in the timeframe we needed (which was within a year). We asked for them to not do any training with our puppy as we wanted to pick it up at 8 weeks. We clearly stated all of this. One day we received an email with a photo of a puppy that said your puppy is ready! It was a 16 week old puppy that had been through 8 weeks of training already. And at this point we had no idea “our” puppy was even born yet! There had been no communication. This was 6+ months after a deposit had been put down and we were expecting another 4 or so before we heard from them based on the website timeline and conversations with Michael. He claimed he got us mixed up with someone else and said it wasn’t a problem, that we could just get one from the next litter. Great—sounded good to us. Mind you the first puppy actually did look like what we wanted and had applied for. So we were expecting that same thing from the next litter.

Michael did let us know a little bit ahead of time that he had another puppy ready for us and we went to get her at 8 weeks. She was not marked like the first or like we applied for, but we had just driven 15 hours one way to get her and aesthetic was the lowest thing on our list anyways. We just wanted a good dog with protection capability which he assured us was the case.

Fast forward nearly a year later—aesthetic was low on our list, yes, but a “correct” dog wasn’t. Thora is not even 50lbs, one ear doesn’t stand up and her teeth always show because her lips don’t cover them. And beyond the lack of correctness, she still the furthest thing from being PPD capable. As I said above, she’s incredibly sweet and a good family dog/companion so we love her, but for the expectation and investment, definitely not worth it. She never grew and never developed more than a PSA Level 1 ability to do much protection wise. It’s just not in her. Obviously since we love her, she will have a forever home. I was never going to write a negative review until they blocked me on social media for posting a photo of her (the second one) on a comment thread in a post they made asking for client photos. The post they made only wanted pretty dogs apparently and not honest accounts. They deleted my comment and blocked me. I said she wasn’t exactly what we applied for but we loved her anyways.

To summarize—this is what I’ve learned from the dog industry, especially with malinois:

1) Never take your dog to a trainer that only shows the good on social media and cuts out the bad parts of training. They can’t be trusted if they want to pretend all dog training is easy and looks pretty.

2) Never buy from a breeder that wants to hide their washouts and pretend they never existed. A breeder that wants to pretend they only ever put out GREAT and beautiful dogs, is frankly—counterfeit.

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. They sold me with their marketing and I don’t want that to happen to anyone else who’s looking for something specific like we were.

Do I think they put out mostly nice/decent dogs? Yes. But do I think they have good marketing more than the highest quality of dog that they claim to have? Also yes. We’ve bought 2 Mals from another breeder and they’re twice the dog Thora is, so from experience, there are better breeders out there (especially to communicate with). And definitely more transparent ones from a business perspective.

I have not purchased from Wolfsbane but I have done some research on them. They have rave reviews from all over the United States. This alone is very impressive. I have personally met Mr. Webb and his wife they seem to be genuine people. They are not back yard breeders, they seem to maintain good house keeping, they make sure all pets are properly vetted. They are definitely breeding for the right reasons and believe in quality. At this point my goal is to own one of Wolfsbane's puppies as a companion, friend and family member in our household.....I know I couldn't go wrong with this choice

After careful research and conversations with those that had purchased from Wolfsbane K9 my husband contacted Michael regarding their breeding and training program. Michael spent a lot of time talking with my husband, carefully answering all his questions. In the short term we plan to purchase a puppy for our family and later purchase a dog for our daughter when she graduates from high school and heads off to college. Michael went into great detail regarding pairing the right dog to the right family based on our needs and family dynamic. We have spoken with a number of other breeders and Michael was by far the most thorough and considerate of our needs. When it comes time to purchase our first dog it will undoubtedly be from Wolfsbane.
