The worst experience I've ever had with an eye doctor office.

This place is just too slickly run. From the moment I was called back, they tried to upsell me on an extra exam that isn't covered by insurance. Every person I was ferreted around to see commented with mock surprise that I opted against this exam with the extra fee it carries and remarked in hushed serious tone almost verbatim that "you know we highly recommend it, it can turn up serious problems you may not know about".

At the end of my exam I was brought out to a table for my "contact lens fitting". I have worn the exam same contact lens for 8 years. There was no mention of a fee for this, I basically just put a pair of my same daily contact lens in, then got up to leave, but not before seeing the bill. All of my past eye exams elsewhere have been free, covered by my unchanged insurance. This one charged an extra $80 for the bs unnecessary lens fitting. Such a scam. I called back to object after confirming I've never been charged for past appointments, but it fell on deaf ears.

And for over a year after my appointment, I continued to be harassed by calls and emails imploring that it's time for my next appointment. I won't be having that. From top to bottom, I couldn't have regretted my last appointment more.

The ironic thing is I decided to go to Target on La Cienega for my latest appointment, and wouldn't you know it had a super cool doctor, no attempted upsell, they price match contacts, no extra charges, and a policy where you only get future appointment reminders if you fill out a card requesting them. Who would have guessed Target would have more of a small town, down to earth feel than this place?

I don't blame the people who work at Advanced, to my eye it appears they have been extensively trained by marketers on what to say and when to say it. If you do go here, I suggest you keep your eyes peeled and unfortunately go to great lengths to be clear about which services have a fee and which do not.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, who worked with me at Advanced Eye Care (4 people) were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They have a wide-variety of frame options to choose from, and the store and patient rooms are clean and welcoming. What I really liked is that from start to finish, my appointment was less than an hour.

Advanced Eyecare Center of Manhattan Beach is top notch! I highly recommend Dr. Lee and her assistants! Everyone working in this office is so very kind and caring! They take time accommodating your needs and make sure you leave with a smile!

Really great experience. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The doctor recommended follow up care that I didn’t expect but I’m glad she ordered so that we establish a baseline for the health of my eyes. I’m looking forward to coming back and checking out the nice array of glasses they have in office. Thank you!

My appointment was at 9 I got there at 9 by 9:05 they called me in did all the test that needed to be done and by 9:30 maybe 9:40 I was headed home. The staff is friendly place is nice and clean . The doctor was great answered all my questions I have been coming here since 2016 can’t find a better place to go.

Dr. Hansen is very thourough and knowledgeable my eye exam was detailed, he took the time to make sure every aspect of my eye health was carefully checked.
I appreciate how comprehensive & professional the entire visit was.
I m so glad I found such a dedicated eye Doctor!!!
Also the entire staff was excellent! Polite, attentive and helpful.

I have been visiting Dr. Michael and his team for years now. When he was located off Torrance Blvd. My mom connected me and my dad with them. I have been a patient since. Their team has always been welcoming. From check in, to the pre-doctor meeting, doctor visits, and glasses selection and fitting it has always been a great experience. They have a great selection of frames. In the time that we’ve been there (more than 15-20 years I’m sure) my mom had 1 experience where she was spoken to incorrectly. I addressed it with management and they heard and empathized with my concern. My dad has had a great experience and speaks highly of his experience. I finally met Daniel today whom my dad chats it up with when he gets glasses. Now I understand why. He’s very patient and explains things. Otherwise, everything is smooth sailing. I highly recommend their practice.

I love the level of service I receive at Advanced Eyecare from everyone. They're friendly and professional. I enjoy my discussions with Dr Hansen regarding my vision and any issues that need monitoring. Advanced Eyecare Center is definitely worth consideration if you want to ensure your vision is the best it can be.

As a new patient I was a bit nervous entering the practice…so a smile and friendly greeting would have been appreciated. The technician was very thorough but again wish he had smiled and told me his name. Dr. Lie was wonderful! Very upbeat with a friendly greeting, very professional as she explained all the test results in terms I could understand. I will definitely return to Advance Eyecare Center next year for my yearly exam. Keep smiling!
