Stayed 4 days in early April. The hotel is fun and quirky. It's not fancy. I wouldn't even call it "nice". But it's adequate and more charming than a typical hotel. If you want an interesting Hollywood-themed hotel, I'd say go for it. If you want luxury, maybe keep looking.

PROS:
-Super close to the freeway, easy walk to Hollywood Walk of fame, Wax Museum etc.
-Pool
-Restaurant on site
-Nice staff
-beds and bedding comfy

CONS:
-No daily maid service (upon request, but not guaranteed).
-tiny trash cans. With four people they filled up super fast.
- Shampoo etc. was empty. With full sized containers they must never be checked!
- No pool towels. Just regular bath towels.
-Pricy valet parking, $38/night and not included.
- Some freeway noise on the back side rooms (308)

No regrets about staying there but it's more quirky than nice. I might choose elsewhere next time.

I was pleasantly surprised upon checking in to see the appealing retro decor. The lobby and rooms are charming and cozy, and the pool area is lovely with a star pattern of lights after dark.

The diner next door has a convenient adjoining door so you can head over without even leaving the hotel, but the area is also nice enough that I found myself walking the long way more than once.

Such a fun one night stay for our family. Interesting decor, good location that felt safe, wonderful pool. Room was clean and cozy with funky charm and touches that felt like home. Staff was friendly and helpful from charming valet, to friendly room attendant, to wonderful front desk staff that went above and beyond to return a left behind item to us. Our family hopes to be able to come back again someday!

Nostalgic hotel with great location and service. Mere 10 minutes to Universal Studios.

We could see the Hollywood sign in the shower! Pretty cool.

The vibes are on point - old Hollywood.

Easy walk to Hollywood Boulevard and the in-house diner is also pretty special.

Very good location
everything was within walking distance, especially the Walk of Fame. The hotel is ideal for a short stay of a few days.

One suggestion for improvement:
The TVs could be updated to more modern model

Stayed here this past weekend. Great staff, great room, Valet w/ ins and out was super easy and cool. The attached restaurant was A+. Fair overnight rate. Convenient to our concert in Hollywood and the 101. Would stay here again. Added: After another stay that I had a matter come up that needed some accommodation, the hotel was really cool and gracious and they worked with me and all I can say is book with confidence!

I've stayed here many times, and I'm never disappointed. It has a funky, chic, Hollywood vibe, and it's clean and friendly. Great location, walkable lovely Franklin Village area. Safe and close to many Hollywood attractions. The Clarke Street Diner downstairs is wonderful. It's my go to in LA. I highly recommend!

I think this place is great. Huge rooms, tea and coffee making facilities (finally!!) and a great bar and diner downstairs. Friendly staff and a laundry. $5 for wash, dry and detergent. Exactly what I needed. Good location too. I can see how the rooms on the road side would be noisy so make sure you get the Hollywood view rooms.

Very good compromise between location price and services. The pool is not so big, but enough if you wanna relax after a day visiting LA. Location is great, 10 mins from Universal Studios, 20mins from Griffith Observatory, really perfect. Room was spacious and bathroom too.
The diner linked to the hotel building serves amazing food!
