The team from Akay Roofing did a superb job of replacing our roof. The guys were professional, polite and cleaned up everyday. The drone photos gave us excellent proof that everything was completed as reported. I would definitely recommend them.

I had a very disappointing experience with this roofing company at my site in Surrey. The workmanship was far below expectations, and the quality of the job was poor. There were multiple issues that should have been caught by any competent roofing crew, including sloppy finishing and lack of attention to detail.

Communication was also frustrating — concerns were either dismissed or not addressed in a timely manner. After paying for professional work, I expected accountability and proper follow-through, but that was not the case.

I would strongly recommend doing thorough research before hiring this company.

Only good things to say! Quote was quick and very competitive. No delays in getting started. Always came when they said they would. Work and material quality was top notch. Anil was always on top of things making sure everything was just right. Cleanup was careful. Clearly they know their business and the crew just got on with it regardless of any little surprises that presented after the old roof was off.

After 30 years our cedar shake roof finally needed replacement. This was the first time we faced this problem and were nervous about getting a good job, a good contractor, and at a reasonable price.
As a retired project engineer, I was used to the normal bidding process for suppliers and contractors. Asphalt shingles were the obvious choice; cedar shakes are now prohibitively expensive and not nearly so high quality as our original shakes..
We chose approximately 8-9 contractors close to our home in Tsawwassen to submit bids. Some came to our house with presentations and some relied on a Google Maps satellite app and submitted their bid by email.
For our 2600 sq ft two storey home (area very approximate, includes garage), the bids ranged from $16,500 to $42,000!!
It seemed that all the companies that made in-home presentations  were the  high bids.
Almost all the bids included Iko and/or Malarkey and/or GAF brand shingles, all major brands, so the big differences between bids were not likely due to the shingles.
After eliminating the highest bids (that used the same brands and models of asphalt shingles), we looked at completed jobs around Surrey and Delta and talked to several owners, then narrowed the field further, and ended up choosing  Akay  Roofing. We chose Malarkey Vista Black Oak shingles.
We were very impressed with their work ethic, their disciplined, professional approach to the work, their workmanship, and their neatness. They used tarpaulins around the whole house and swept up every night so we wouldn't  track old rotting cedar bits into the house.
They were very easy to deal with - we feel that we got excellent work and  very good value - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
