I had already left a five star review praising the quality of work and professionalism of the staff, but I wanted to update it after a recent warranty experience.

I contacted 1st Choice regarding a concern I had, and they immediately got me scheduled. From start to finish, I received the same five-star service that impressed me the first time. Even though I was probably being a little paranoid, Nathan took the time to thoroughly check everything, reassure me that all was well, and answer my questions without making me feel like a bother.

What really stood out was his patience and professionalism. He never seemed frustrated, even though it turned out there wasn't actually an issue. The level of care, honesty, and customer service they provide is rare these days.

Once again, top-notch work and outstanding customer care. I am absolutely blown away by this company and would recommend 1st Choice to anyone without hesitation.

When we had to finally replace our 23-year-old AC units, I started doing research and reviews of the most reliable system and reviews of HVAC companies. After a few weeks I narrowed it down to three companies and to the Trane / American Standard brands.
A co-worker had recommended Manny from 1st Choice Plumbing, Air & Insulation. I contacted Manny and scheduled a consultation with him along with the other two companies. Manny came over and inspected our current systems, and we discussed options and things that he recommended. We really appreciated his experience and knowledge; he brought up some things that other AC companies did not which made us feel as though he was putting our best interest in mind.
After some time, we chose to contract 1st Choice for our AC system replacement, choosing the Trane 17 SEER systems.
Soon the day of installation came, and we received notification from two different crews when they were on their way (Jose & Kevin). The guys arrived and after a walk through they got started on their work. With a total of five guys working together, they were very respectful of our home, wearing booties in the house and using drop cloths and masking off with plastic our entire laundry room where the attic scuttle hole was located. All the technicians were very polite and professional in their work. Being in the residential trades all of my adult life (almost 40 years) I can tell when people are working for a check and people who truly care about their work and take pride in their work, and all five of the technicians with 1st Choice are all ones that take pride in their work. They were very efficient and completed the installation, clean up and start-up by 2 pm. Jose walked me through the systems, the new t-stats and assisted me getting it set up on the app for my phone. Jose mentioned it could take up to a day to get the systems to fully cool down the house, but by 6 pm we had the house cool down to 71. After the guys left, I went up into the attic to inspect their work and found it cleaner than when they started, the walking platforms were clean of all the dust and the work they did was top notch! Everything level, secure and organized with care, no trash or screws left behind. This is the kind of work that builds a company and makes for a great future!
Our experience with 1st Choice has been nothing but stellar, from Manny, Jose, Kevin (I would mention the other tech’s, but I didn’t get their names) and will be recommending them each chance I get.

Jeo did an amazing job helping me understand what issues my AC hand. He didn’t try and upsell me on service I didn’t need. He was honest and straightforward with his quote. I really felt he had my best interests in mind and wasn’t trying to nickel and dime me. I feel I can trust 1st Choice with any future fixes or installations. They will be the first ones I call. Shortly after posting my original review, 1st Choice Mechanical reached out immediately to ensure my complete satisfaction. While a quality control follow-up is standard practice and I had simply slipped through the cracks, they took full ownership of the situation without hesitation.

A representative came out, answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns, and got me scheduled to repair the scuttle. The response was professional, proactive, and reassuring.

From reception to sales to the technicians, every team member I interacted with was top-notch, friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making things right. Their willingness to listen and act quickly speaks volumes about their customer service and integrity.

I truly appreciate how seriously they take feedback and customer satisfaction, and this follow-up experience reinforced my confidence in recommending 1st Choice Mechanical.

After attending a home show, I learned that 1st Choice Mechanical was offering energy audits and decided to take advantage of the opportunity. The audit itself was very informative, and I discovered that both my ducting and AC system were not compliant for the size of my home. 1st Mechanical provided a detailed quote, and after obtaining three additional quotes that were roughly half the price, I circled back to them because I was genuinely impressed by their professionalism.

I asked why their pricing was significantly higher, and they took the time to reassess the project, lowered their price, and clearly explained the differences in scope and quality between their work and that of other HVAC companies. Based on that transparency, I ultimately chose to move forward with 1st Choice Mechanical and was scheduled for the same week.

The installation team arrived on time, were friendly, and worked efficiently. They completed the entire project in one day, which was impressive. However, I was disappointed with the housekeeping and communication surrounding the work. Insulation was left in clumps throughout my xeriscaping/landscaping, and there were no preventative measures taken to protect items in my garage. My washer, dryer, bikes, TV, and other belongings were covered in insulation dust, and no cleanup was done upon their departure. While it only took me about 30 minutes to clean everything with a leaf blower and towel, I would have prepared differently had I known what to expect.

Additionally, I was told the team would only be working in the attic over the house and not the garage, and I wasn’t advised to remove or protect any attic items. When I later inspected the attic, I found a white substance on a suitcase that I was unable to remove. The only direction I was given beforehand was to move my cars out of the garage. I also noticed insulation falling out of the vents throughout the house, requiring me to remove the vent covers and vacuum them myself.

They replaced the scuttle hole as part of the project, but the workmanship there was subpar. The staples were not fully secured, the wood was already cracked, and the cover is slightly too small for the opening. Lastly, there was no follow-up from the team to check on how the project went or to address any questions or concerns. While some of these issues may be standard practice, they were not communicated to me beforehand or discussed afterward.

Based on other reviews, I am confident the ductwork itself was done properly, and I appreciate the warranty, which gives me peace of mind as we head into summer. Overall, I would recommend 1st Choice Mechanical to friends and family for their professionalism, technical knowledge, and quality of work, but I do wish there had been better communication and attention to cleanup and customer follow-up.
