She enjoys working in obstetrics because it allows her to be part of one of the most special journeys in her patients’ lives.Bernadette is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). She is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, neonatal resuscitation, AWHONN fetal heart monitoring and advanced fetal heart monitoring, and is a certified lactation consultant.Once her children were grown, Bernadette returned to school to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Then, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana, while working full-time. Before joining the Intermountain Women's Health team, she served five years as a labor and delivery nurse and in the newborn nursery at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.Growing up in Hawaii, Ms. Santos performed professionally as a hula and Tahitian dancer.
