Dr. Myhre grew up in a village in western Uganda at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountain range in the Congo River basin. As a teen, he studied in Kenya before attending Yale University for his undergraduate degree. He decided to pursue medical school as he saw medicine and surgery as a tangible application of science that could affect others. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School. Dr. Myhre completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah and an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the University of Maryland. Passionate about service, Dr. Myhre plans to volunteer his skills with international orthopedic opportunities. “I believe that all people who experience trauma, regardless of background or circumstance, deserve excellent world-class care. The beauty of orthopedics is that broken bodies can be made whole.” Dr. Myhre loves mountain biking, backcountry touring, and anything in the mountains with his wife and dog. Read more
