She values being part of an organization that prioritizes the strong connection between patient and physician. Dr. Najjar has a special interest in helping patients with chronic medical conditions take control of their health. She finds the greatest reward in seeing patients reduce or even eliminate the need for medications through changes in diet and lifestyle—such as diabetics discontinuing insulin or hypertensive patients no longer requiring medication. Prior to joining Intermountain Health, Dr. Najjar served as a family medicine physician at Great Lakes Bay Health Centers in Saginaw, Michigan, and as a clinical assistant professor at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, and completed her family medicine residency training at Wayne State University and the University of Kentucky. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Biochemistry from Knox College in Illinois. Originally born in India and raised in Thailand, Dr. Najjar was deeply influenced by her family’s work with a nonprofit organization focused on improving education, infrastructure, and access to healthcare. This early exposure fueled her passion for medicine and a desire to help underserved communities.
