I am a patient here under my primary physician of record Heghine Muradyan and have also seen NP monique smallson.

I was prescribed emsam, a critical medication for me and for my future transplant. to be compliant with cedar Sinai requests. I was initially given a 3 month prescription. I was not told anything further and assumed it was a standard refill.

When i refill CVS told me that monique smallson had denied the prescription multiple times. That i should contact her. I did so and asked for a refill.... She refused. She stated that "I didn't even know you were on that medication" (her name and npi number are on the attached prescription- attached). She then told me to wait 3 months to see a psychiatrist so they could refill it. She refused to bridge me. She ignored and did not treat the withdrawal that occurred after as a result of rapidly stopping. She abandoned me.

I contacted Heghine Muradyan MD (my pcp of record) via email and explained the urgency. She refused to speak to me, bridge me, or speak to her partner in medical group MD Aamir Jamal who would have told her it was urgent. In essence, she dismissed me completely with zero regard for my safety, my transplant or her status as my GP and "coordinator of my care". she abandoned me. she did not assess for the withdrawal and left me to deal with that, alone.

When i submitted a complaint to the insurance drug providers office same day, they called the office to ask about it and NP smallson claimed she had told me the prescription was 3 months only and there was a note stating that i had been told to see another physician. This is untrue. I was never told anything. And if she was comfortable prescribing it then..... why so uncomfortable prescribing it now when I have a psychiatrist lined up? Her name and NPI number are attached. She is signing for other medication all prescribed the same day per cvs records. Only this one she has abandoned.

In the end my nephrologist DR. Jamal bridged me to cover the aforementioned abandonment/negligence. While he did offer to help with the withdrawal symptoms.... there was no point. Id already dealt with the worst of it myself.

I attach the prescription as proof of my claim. note the embedded name, monique smallson, scratched out and replaced...... the system prescribing expected her to refill because she was the originator.

Edit: I gave the facility ample time to fix the above issue and they never did. They ignored it. Heghine Muradyan And Monique smallson did nothing. And this review was up publicly. They knew of my complaint and did nothing. I then filed a medical board complaint and told them I had. I was trying to be fair. I told them I was looking for further investigation into the matter. And they immediately fired me. No 30 day treatment, no letter, no emergency care, no assistance finding a new GP (this was patient abandonment)!

I tried to contact their office per the email above to let them know I had emergency medical issues that needed their assistance. They never got back to me.I needed to revise this has been bugging me for weeks. Hegine Muradyan and smallson have fired me for submitting a medical board complaint. If I was wrong would they have needed to do so? No. But I have their charting and I am certain beyond a doubt to what I speak of . They have fired me for filing a complaint. They refused to take care of things when their names and license numbers were all over it. Instead they hide behind the term broken relationship which has no meaning to their patients. The job is care. And if they can fire you for failing to remedy mistakes of their own making that is a dictatorship. Not a relationship.

My advise and opinion is to remember that when dealing with them. They might be nice people but they are not your friend or even “in your corner”. The minute you become any kind of nuisance or hold them to account you are worthless to them and they will prove it with actions….

I’m really happy to attend this medical office. The staff is welcoming and attentive. Dr. Kheira Bettir took the time to listen carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a way that it is easy to understand. Every appointment I have with her she makes sure I understand absolutely everything. She makes me feel comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Kheira Bettir and her staff.

The staff is patient and helpful..the office is clean and well organized..Doctors are professional and kind..very concerned for our health..a appointment is required..always have had a good result from our visit..been going there over 5 years and never a problem..is a warm and welcoming office..plenty of parking..,
