The Social, Located on Sussex in the Heart of Ottawa is the place to be seen among Ottawas professionals. Social, a bar and restaurant, is a trendy nightspot to eat, drink and relax. Although pricey, its a great place to splurge once in a while. On one of my first visits, I opted for the chicken dish. This dish came with gnocchi and baby carrots, and was basically a party in my Mouth. The rich sauce with the chicken made the meal. Main Course dishes range from 25$ to 35$ and Small plates range from 10$ to 25$. If you decide to opt out of dinner defiantly hit this place up later on in the evening, when the restaurant turns into a full fledge bar/lounge. Every Wednesday you will find live jazz and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday is when the crowds come out for a live DJ. The older clientèle populates the bar, making this place a scene for Ottawas young professionals. The Social comes alive during the summer with its spectacular patio in the center of a cobble stone courtyard. Centered by old stone buildings, the ambiance is truly warming. Next time you find yourself out in Ottawa with no where to go, hit up social for great drinks and a beautiful atmosphere.
