During training, she became interested in foot and ankle care and chose to focus on helping patients with those problems. She later completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Maryland. She looks for nonsurgical ways to treat pain whenever possible. Dr. Barrette started the first Diabetic Foot Clinic at Reliant which helped lower amputation rates. Dr. Barrette has always enjoyed learning new techniques.
