They stick super gummy adhesive tape and stickers on everything and it's a nightmare to get off. Totally ruined the finish of this table I just bought and wasted $65. Now I have to sand the table and revarnish it thanks to some careless employees slapping adhesive on everything.

They're also extremely picky about what they take, so don't even bother donating furniture here. A lot of it is extremely overpriced anyway.

The "Brush With Kindness" program was impressive. They replaced my damaged ceiling. As a health challenged resident, it gave me piece of mind and a safer environment with dignity and respect! The program is for necessary repairs affecting the health and or safety of low income residents. Its not for home improvements or "cosmetic" upgrades. As seen in the photo, not all of the old tiles were damaged and just the damaged tiles were replaced with similar tiles. The office staff (I think she is the program director) was very kind and sensitive to my situation. Proof of hardship, income, utilities and other debt, up to date taxes, insurance, and ownership is required.

I’ve had the privilege to personally interview over a dozen individuals who’s lives have been immeasurably changed by the amazing work Habitat does in Livingston County. What I appreciate most is “this is not a hand out, but a hand up”. They truly care about the people they work with and empower them to level up with compassion and skill. They do not enable a beggar’s or victim mentality, and make immediate and meaningful changes that provide hope, dignity and lasting change. Great finds there. We needed a chair for my husband in the bedroom. What we found was perfect, clean and in great shape. Also the perfect reading lamp and stool to put it on. Even though I had to modify the stool (it was too tall), it was just the right for that space.
