Our experience was excellent! The repair was completed earlier than quoted which was great. The price was reasonable.

I have taken both of my vehicles there now. And on both occasions I felt I treated fairly. The staff is remarkable and the work was done in the time frame promised.

I take my fleet vehicles and my personal vehicles to Heritage. They are very fairly priced, communicate well, and they never pressure us into additional work. That being said they do communicate issues that come up on the inspection reports, but it’s never high pressure to get them done like at other shops.

I have a Mechanic in Payette that I use regularly Phillips Auto. They were busy at the time and my air-conditioning had gone out in my 2008 Cadillac Escalade so I called what I thought was Miller auto repair and got a hold of heritage which has recently bought out Miller auto repair. They told me that I could bring it in the next day and we’re very nice on the phone and said they would be able to give us a ride home or pick us up after the work was done so we can get our vehicle. It was probably my fault for not asking for a quote or any questions but they said they could not recharge my AC without doing a complete system check for leaks. And that made sense to me. I dropped the car off and they called me the next day to tell me they had found a hose that had a leak and that my AC condenser had a leak. They gave me a quote of over $1200 to do the repairs. I said that seems like quite a bit I thought maybe it should be $400-$500 The receptionist said well for the condenser it’s 2.5 or 2.7 hours and the hose is almost 2 hours and then recharge the Freon. I said I’d rather wait and take it to my Mechanic at Phillips Auto in Payette. The receptionist explained that they have a diagnostic fee of $198. I said to her that seems pretty expensive she said that’s just what it is. They said come pick it up so we did and again they were very nice about coming to my home picking me up and taking me to their shop, which I thought was very convenient I took the vehicle to my Mechanic. They also found a leak in the hose but no leak in the compressor and I told them what Heritage said. My Mechanic called me later in the day and said come pick the vehicle up. When I arrived, they had me go and pay for the work and Service done. It was $298 total and I was very upset at myself for even calling Heritage in the first place for $100 more than their diagnostic fee I got the whole problem fixed. I kind of felt like an idiot. I understand that there’s a book that shows how much time it takes to replace an AC condenser and also an AC hose in the book will tell you 2.7 hours for one two hours for another but most mechanics that are good mechanics can do the work in much less time so a job that says in the book takes 2.7 hours might only take 45 minutes to a good mechanic and a job that says two hours might only take 30 minutes for a good Mechanic so rather than charging you for almost 5 hours of work they charge you for one hour and 15 minutes which saves the customer a lot of money. New car dealerships charge the full 2.7 hours. That’s how they make their money. I understand everybody is in business to make money, but I believe there’s a limit and I believe that people can out price themselves for what they’re worth heritage is a new company in our community and I would think they would try harder to not gouge people so much. There are a large company they have locations all throughout the valley, which made me confident when I called them, but after they quoted me the price, I realized this is the wrong Mechanic for me so I’d suggest whoever thinks about using them in the future be very careful. Be sure and ask questions ahead of time like how much is this gonna cost and is there a diagnostic fee and if you feel uncomfortable then use somebody else like Expert Auto or Phillips Auto Repair. there quite a few small Mechanic shops in the valley that are very honest and don’t try to gouge you again the people working at Heritage I don’t think are Bad people I just think they need to learn that in this valley most people don’t have that kind of money and if we did, we’d just take it to the Cadillac store and have it fixed and they don’t have the facility or the overhead of Hometown Chevrolet so you would think it would be much cheaper going to a Mom and Pop store or Mechanic shop that it would be going to a car dealership that’s why we choose to use the little guy and you would think that the little guy would know that we’re a little guys too. And not try to gouges for so much money.
