For the last five years, we've had the privilege of bringing our kids to Presbyterian Weekday School. Along the way, they've been blessed with the very best teachers - teachers we credit so much for helping shape their character, grow their faith, strengthen their minds and nurture their spirits.

I've dreaded this last week knowing it means closing such a sweet chapter of our lives. But as we do, we leave with full hearts and so much gratitude - for every teacher, for the program, for it's incredible director, Mrs. Becky. If you're looking for an amazing school, Presbyterian Weekday School is it.

We toured several places to find the perfect fit and we found that in PWS! Becky is the best director we have met - hands down. You can tell she has a heart for the kids and runs a wonderful program. She is what sold us on the school! My child was super shy at first and very hesitant to start a school program, but all of that shyness and fear disappeared when meeting Becky. She coordinates so many fun activities for all of the classes and makes you and your child feel like family. Our child has a ton of food allergies, but that never stopped Becky from searching for an alternative so our child felt included. The communication from Becky and the teachers is wonderful. You never had to guess what the plan was and if you ever had a question, it was answered promptly. There are plenty of opportunities for family involvement which is so refreshing. The size of the classrooms was another thing that drew us to PWS. They are much larger than the average which allows more freedom of movement for the kids and teachers. The teachers in both classes we were a part of were phenomenal. Very attentive and accommodating to the individual child’s needs. They created a safe and creative environment for the kiddos to thrive in. We feel the developmental expectations from the kids are very reasonable with their age groups. The play based learning allows the kids to be kids and still learn in a playful manner which allowed our child to absorb the information better and she was more excited about learning because of it. I cannot say enough good things about the school and Becky. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you PWS and Becky for all you have done for our child and family. We wish the half day program would be extended to elementary as we love it this much!!

This is my fourth year with a child in the weekday school at First Presbyterian in Gastonia and we love it! The preschool has been around for so many years and we have been incredibly happy with the current administration and staff. Many of the teachers have been here for a long time and they are so kind and welcoming to the children. My son was very well prepared for starting kindergarten this year and he looks back at his time here fondly. The director Becky is so knowledgeable about child development and treats her staff and the parents very well. She is always available to answer questions or just to chat. We love PWS!

My husband and I usually come to the church and sit at the table near the Boy Scouts building. One of the members decided to approach my husband and I aggressively just because we were sitting there. She was very nasty and rude. I thought churches are supposed to be welcoming and inviting especially because the area is nice and peaceful. We clean up after ourselves everytime and we are there during lunch hours. We don’t bother the kids or anybody for that matter. People go to that church to play basketball and walk around the track all the time. But just because we don’t go to that church we are told we are not welcomed there. Sucks to see that people in this world are cruel and nasty especially to people that mind there business and don’t bother anybody.

I would be extremely careful in registering my child at this school. The director is incredibly manipulative and extremely well versed in lying. Her concern seems to be more with the accreditation and not with the actual students or the things happening in the school. She is threatening to the teachers and cares very little for them. They are quick to verbally promote Christian principles, but their actions definitely don’t match those words. I believe lying was talked about in the 10 commandments. I wish I knew what I know now before I had registered my daughter.
