There are several important responsibilities in that mandate. Since its inception in 1983, HNL, a membership-based organization, has played a leading role in identifying, developing and delivering training programs to match the needs of the industry. Advocacy, another critical component of HNL's mandate, ensures that the views and interests of the industry are taken into consideration at all times. As well, communications is an integral component of the Association. With a widely diverse, geographically dispersed and growing membership roster, HNL communicates effectively with all members on a regular basis in all sectors of the industry and all regions of the province.
