The food was delicious;😍 we really enjoyed the soups, mussels, and the seafood platter, though the oysters were just a 4 out of 5. The waitress and hostess were very welcoming and seated my husband and I quickly, even though people usually wait about 20–30 minutes on a Sunday evening. You can bring your own alcohol; there is a liquor store right across the street. There is a parking lot, but it was full, so we quickly found a spot around the corner. We will definitely be back!

Ship Bottom Shellfish is a great restaurant. There are a lot of kind people at the restaurant. The food there is always very tasty and every time I go with my family we always get the Seafood Bisque, Crab Cake, and Lobster Sandwich. Sometimes we go to LBI just to eat food there. Ship Bottom Shellfish is a great restaurant to go to.

Mary Kate was our server so very sweet. We ordered Calamari appetizer! Metered in your mouth. My husband had Salmon he's said best yet that he's eaten since we've moved down to this area. I had shrimp delicious too!

The place is lovely looking. The young ladies were very happy to help you saw a bunch of people there for dinner so I tried it . The book doesn’t read like the cover ! Over priced ! And if the food had been good I could have gotten over the price for I was told the price before they started making it . It was fresh with not a drop of flavor. I have eaten low sodium chips that tasted better ! Beyond flavor less . I saw that you sell spices there for the take out side please asked the cook to walk over and grab one . Hell if he is afraid of flavor tell him to at least use the salt and pepper. I promise people will thank you for it The portion was very small to the price point. I will include pictures so it will not be hear say . When you look at the picture know that I ate one shrimp from the tray and one piece of broccoli . That was all it took for me to go straight to Wawa for a sandwich for it was late. Now that you saw the portion know that I paid $40 bucks for the entree.

Try the Birch Beer (very sweet root beer) - that’s delicious.
First time to have raw clams - very interesting and good.
Enjoyed the chowder.
Fried clams were good, too.
Sweet staff.
Restroom is outside.

We have ordered take-out here more times than I can count (and obviously love it or we would have stopped) but today was the first time we dined in, sitting on the sidewalk bar seats for lunch. Food was top notch and so nice getting it fresh. Service was fantastic and loved the atmosphere of a busy ship bottom beach day walking/driving by. I had a crab cake and the Baja fish tacos special with fries while my son had clams with a side of clams and pasta (linguini and clams). BYOB but they do have some wines for sale. Take out here is also great and one thing I’ve always been impressed with is regardless of how chaotic it is or complicated the order I’ve never seen them mess it up.

Ship Bottom Shellfish offers a range of local seafood and enthusiastic service. I had some oysters, very much a treat, and a fried fish sandwich. The food was tasty. Some of the sides were a bit disappointing.

We visited Ship Bottom Shellfish in the off-season -- September. That it was open was a huge plus as many restaurants were closed.

Growing up, I lived summers at the NJ shore and ate LOTS of seafood. My favorite was lump-meat crab cakes. For years I've quested after ones like I remember. I finally found them here at the Ship Bottom - a 9.5 our of 10! The rest of the dinner was very good too.

This is ALWAYS our best meal when we visit LBI.
The soft shell crabs were beyond amazing. Large, prepared perfectly etc etc.
A very large bucket of mussels is a must as was the chicken.
Worth the wait.

❤️ Overview:
My mom came here for dinner at around 5pm and it was already popping! It was a 45 min to an hour wait or they could sit us outside immediately, so we chose outside! So definitely recommend coming early or being ready to wait. Nice thing if you will wait, they take your phone number and will call you when your table is ready. Which I think every restaurant should do!

Overall, all the food was good! It’s also BYOB, so if you want to drink, bring your own alcohol! Sitting outside was nice, but it was super windy and you are facing the street so not the best view but definitely was better than waiting an hour!

(I was debating sharing this, but I’m going to, I took a small container of clam chowder to go and ate it the next day, which I think was a mistake because I got food poisoning the following day after eating it and another meal I had. It was probably a combination of the two. But also don’t take my word on this because it could be unrelated, but my husband, friends and I think it definitely could have been it.)

One of the best stuffed shrimp dinners we’ve had in a very long time! Stuffing has large pieces of crab meat with little to no fillers! Baked potato and Cole slaw completed an excellent meal! Sat outside with a cool breeze on gorgeous evening! Nice way to end the day.
