Darren’s training began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry at Brigham Young University (Hawaii in Laie, Hawaii) in 1994. He went on to receive his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1998. Darren is also an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants (ASAPA). Throughout his career, Darren has been a speaker and presenter in academic conferences and local meetings. Darren’s current academic interests encompass patient and student education, as well as research. In fact, he has been a dermatology clinical preceptor for students at Northern Arizona University’s physician assistant program. He is an advisor for the Dermatology Education Foundation (DEF) a nonprofit educational program and conference designed to help educate PAs and NPs. Prior to joining Spectrum Dermatology, Darren worked in Arizona at Phoenix Dermatology in Desert Ridge from 2006 until 2018 where he helped build and grow a new practice up from the ground floor. Darren brings extensive experience in adult dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and dermatologic surgery. In addition to his expertise with treating diseases such as skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, and acne; Darren is also comfortable with all aspects of aesthetic dermatology and skin care.
