Horseback riding in Austin, Texas. There's no better way to explore the hill country than on horseback. This isn't your average backyard trail riding experience. Come Check out our 100-acre ranch 15 minutes from downtown Austin. Great for bachelor/bachelorette parties and corporate events!

I was on a natural high the remainder of the weekend after finishing my trial ride. We did the 9:00 a.m. Ranch Ride ( Canyon Lake), our guide was Meagan who was very nice, friendly, knowledgeable and did a geat guided trail ride tour, good instructions on how to handle/ control the horse. The name of my horse was "Dusty" the light tan color horse. Dusty did great but stopped on me half way on the trial ride and would not go forward/budge. Meagan was very attentive and was looking back as i was riding the rear and Meagan explained to me to release the rein, so Dusty could move his head freely as Dusty chooses and it worked, Dusty began to walk and we contined with our trail ride. Meagan was very attentive and was always looking back to make sure that every rider was good and comfortable and that the horses were keeping up. We passed a pond of water along the way and went deep inside the pastuer,/woods.... up and down rocky slopes. It was very relaxing, very peaceful and therapeutic. Going into nature on horse back...i had no idea that a trial ride could be so relaxing, so peaceful and therapeutic. It did wonders for me. The scenery was great, looking across the beautiful Texas Hill country as you ride the horses was nice.i saw two butterflies and a dragon fly. It was a very scenic trail. I really enjoyed myself. If you go in July its best to go in the mornings when its cooler and not as hot. I really enjoyed myself and i will go back to do the ( Canyon Lake) again. In addition, I would like to go trial riding at thier other location in Manor, Tx.

We had the most wonderful experience at Southern Trails, and our guide, Piper, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly kind, patient, encouraging, and made all of us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived.
I brought my 12-year-old and 9-year-old boys, and although it had been a very long time since any of us had ridden horses, Piper guided us so beautifully through the entire experience. She helped the kids feel confident and safe while trying things they had never done before. We rode through beautiful trails, crossed a creek on horseback, and even got to do some trotting. The kids were excited, relaxed, and never felt scared because they were supported so well.
I rode Sunny, and my boys rode Cowgirl and Cooper. The horses were wonderful, and it was clear they were well cared for and matched thoughtfully to each rider.
The entire experience felt like an adventure and a confidence-building experience all at once. My boys absolutely loved it, and so did I. In fact, it was the best day of my summer so far. It inspired me to start taking riding lessons again, and we will definitely be back.
Thank you, Piper, and the Southern Trails team, for creating such a special memory for our family! ❤️🐴🌿

Me and my wife had an amazing time on our ride. I had Roman and my wife had Ken, they were great horses! Our guides were Jaxon and Kale and they did a great job keeping our group organized and pointing out things around the landscape. After the ride, we bought some treats to feed our horses ($3 per cup). Overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely go back.

Absolutely LOVED my trail ride here. My guide Alicia was friendly, personable, and was a great teacher who helped me have the best time. I did the 9AM ride, which was perfect and not too hot. You get a pretty even mix of sun and shade as you explore the ranch. The horse I rode, Cowgirl, was a gem and was so good to me! This activity is great for anyone (adults & kids) and you're sure to have a fantastic time.

I had the most beautiful experience at Southern Trails for a private group horseback ride celebrating a friend’s birthday. It was my very first time ever riding a horse, but honestly, it never felt intimidating because the entire experience was so welcoming and well guided from start to finish.
Our guide, Gracie, was incredibly pleasant, patient, and knowledgeable. She made everyone feel comfortable right away and kept the group engaged the entire time by sharing stories about how the business started and the background of each horse. You could genuinely feel how loved and cared for the horses are.
The horses themselves were so gentle, calm, and patient with all of us, especially those of us riding for the first time. The trails were beautiful, peaceful, and made the whole experience feel really grounding and memorable.
You can tell Southern Trails is built with a lot of heart, care, and passion. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking for something unique, relaxing, and unforgettable. Thank you again to Gracie and the team for such a special day.
