As part of Mediate UK, established in 2011 and rated five stars by more than 712 families, the branch gives separating and divorcing couples in the West Midlands a quicker and more affordable alternative to court. Mediation starts with a MIAM, your individual Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting, which the family court usually expects before an application. Our Family Mediation Council accredited mediators then help you through child arrangements mediation, where parents agree living and contact arrangements, and financial and property mediation, where couples divide assets, pensions and savings fairly. All-issues mediation combines both, and online and shuttle mediation are available when meeting face to face is difficult. Whatever you agree can be recorded in a parenting plan or made legally binding through a consent order. About 90% of the families who choose Mediate UK reach agreement, often in a handful of sessions rather than the many months a court case can take, and legal aid is available for those who qualify. To book a MIAM or a free consultation, call 0121 751 7996 or email admin@mediateuk.co.uk. Read more
