She earned her medical education in India before completing her Internal Medicine residency at New York Hospital of Queens and a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Stony Brook University. She is also board-certified in obesity medicine. Dr. Parikh specializes in the treatment of diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal conditions, lipid disorders, bone health concerns, and obesity. She is particularly passionate about helping patients better understand their conditions and improve their overall quality of life. “If they learn at least one new thing about their condition and feel empowered to treat themselves better, that is very rewarding and gratifying to me,” Dr. Parikh said. Her approach to care is built on education, collaboration, and respect. Dr. Parikh believes patients should play an active role in their healthcare and considers listening to be one of the most important parts of medicine.
