John Smith

By John Smith on July 1, 2026 Verified by Google Fox Contracting: Winnipeg Concrete Foundation Repair

Extremely unprofessional, negligent, and dangerous contractor. Workers from Fox Contracting have been performing a project on our Condo Corporation property on Apple Lane in Winnipeg, and their behavior has been absolutely unacceptable. For over two full days, their heavy equipment completely blocked private parking stalls and severely restricted the driveway, trapping residents and blocking access for everyone. Their most egregious violation happened on Canada Day (July 1, 2026), when they completely blocked the designated Fire Lane — they parked their loader and dual-axle trailer directly under the "No Parking - Fire Lane" sign, showing a total disregard for emergency safety regulations and putting the entire building at risk. When approached politely to move their vehicles, the site supervisor and the crew became extremely rude and aggressive. They refused to cooperate, started shouting, and flatly denied moving their equipment. The situation was only resolved after a direct call to the owner of Fox Contracting, who finally promised to have the equipment removed from the property by the evening. On top of that, their operation looks highly suspicious. There is zero corporate identification: not a single sign, nameplate, or contact number on any of their equipment. The workers wear random, mismatched clothes with no uniforms or logos. The commercial pickup truck towing the trailers has no company decals or business license numbers visible—only standard license plates. If this is how they handle public safety, laws, and basic human communication, I cannot imagine the poor quality of their actual construction work. This company is light-years away from professional standards. Avoid them at all costs!

1. Illegal Blockage of a Designated Fire Lane
The Violation: The contractor parked heavy machinery (a truck loader and a dual-axle trailer) directly under a "No Parking - Fire Lane" sign, completely blocking emergency vehicle access.
Applicable Regulation: Winnipeg Fire Prevention By-law No. 35/2017 and Winnipeg Parking By-law No. 86/2016.

2. Unauthorized Dumping and Soil Storage on Asphalt
The Violation: Excavated dirt, soil, and construction debris were dumped directly onto the asphalt driving surface without protective tarps, barriers, or roll-off bins.
Applicable Regulation: City of Winnipeg Streets By-law No. 1481/77 and environmental protection guidelines.

3.Abandonment of Commercial Equipment
The Violation: Unmarked, commercial heavy equipment was left abandoned on private Condo Corporation property for over 48 hours without resident notification, trapping vehicles and blocking private parking stalls.
Applicable Regulation: Winnipeg Neighbourhood Standards By-law No. 20/2020 and The Condominium Act of Manitoba.

4. Hostile Workplace Conduct and Public Disturbance
The Violation: The site supervisor and construction crew engaged in aggressive behavior, shouting at residents and flatly refusing to mitigate the safety hazards they created.
Applicable Regulation: Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSH) section regarding harassment and public safety.

This was an unacceptable experience. A worker screamed at me and belittled me in public on the street. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior, and it reflects very poorly on the business. I would think twice before engaging with a company that allows this.

Not responsible at all. I requested a quote for a job, and the owner never reached out as promised. I followed up with calls and texts, but received no response. I would not recommend them due to the poor communication and lack of follow-through.
