My husband and I purchased a new roof from Kavanagh Roofing in 2003. It was not until recently, when we noticed a leak from our garage roof, that we called Kavanagh to alert them to the leak. It was then that we discovered from the owner Mike Kavanagh that the product that he installed in 2003 was defective and was involved in a class action suit against the original manufacturer. Kavanagh refused to even discuss with us why we had not received a letter alerting us to the product being recalled. We had asked that he share some of the cost of replacing the plywood under the shingles which were rotted away due to the inferior product he installed.

My comparison to Mr. Kavanagh is that Honda Canada or Toyota Canada who purchase their auto parts from different manufacturers would definitely repair a vehicle and then they would deal with the claim from the supplier. Not putting the responsibility on the consumer
