We hired Mack Engineering for a civil engineering project at our HOA amenity area in the Sandy Springs, GA, and they handled every piece of it. The scope covered stormwater modifications to our existing detention and drainage system, a complete pool renovation, and the associated retaining walls and landscape planting requirements that came with it.
What stood out was how they managed the permitting side. They prepared the grading, drainage, and erosion control plans, ran the stormwater modeling for the modified pool deck and pervious area changes, designed the retaining walls around the pool terrace, and coordinated the required plantings so the site plan would pass county reviews as quickly as possible. As a volunteer HOA board, we were not equipped to navigate land disturbance permits or stormwater detention requirements on our own — they walked us through each submittal, explained what the county reviewers needed, and kept our contractor on schedule.
Communication was consistent, drawings were clear enough for our board and our residents to actually understand, and their cost estimates held up through construction. Mack Engineering did a great job on a feasibility study for a piece of property we want to sell. Very thorough with letters from utilities, tree inventory, saturation rates, and possible home site. They completed the work on a very timely manner and were available to answer any questions.

I honestly cannot say enough about how Jacob and the entire Mack Engineering team helped us not only design our complex land development plan, but walked it through the City of Milton building approval process. When I say that the land development plan was complex, let me explain…The property has 2 separate creeks, a culvert, and a State damn on King Lake in need of repair. The Mack Engineering team strategically and masterfully crafted a plan that allowed for appropriate storm water drainage, 5 bedroom septic approval, and multiple buffer zone clearances. Although the project was difficult, Mack Engineering made it seemless and stress free for our family. It’s with great pleasure that I highly recommend their services.
