I was scheduled for an iron infusion and wanted to understand the estimated cost before the procedure. During scheduling, I was told the total charge was approximately $4,100, but I was reassured not to worry because that amount was before insurance and any available financial assistance. I was also told that someone would contact me about a week before the procedure with a cost estimate.

Unfortunately, no one ever called. Three days before my infusion, I tried to reach the financial/billing department multiple times but was unable to get through. I left two voicemails and never received a return call. When I called the scheduling department again, I was told that I should contact my insurance company myself, and that the only information they could provide was the full charge of $4,406.72.

The day before my scheduled infusion, after speaking with my insurance company, I realized the procedure could still cost me around $3,500 out of pocket. At that point, I had no choice but to cancel the appointment, even though I had already been waiting for over a month.

This experience was extremely frustrating.

I had a iron infusion here today. I was very impressed. Everyone was extremely nice, helpful, explained the process well. My nurse kept a good check on me and how I was doing. I was offered snacks and drinks while I was getting the infusion. I'd give them a A+ for making me feel relaxed and cared for.

My physician sent over a referral to this place for an iron infusion (my first one). Calling to make the appointment was a nightmare. The receptionist rushed me off the phone so quickly, I got none of my questions answered. I called back a different day hoping to speak to someone else. The receptionist this time (not sure if it was the same one or someone different) said she'd find a nurse for me to speak with to explain the process, after being on hold for awhile, she came back on the phone and said she couldn't find a nurse and she tried explaining the process to me herself. She was SO rude, I was almost in tears. This is my first time getting an infusion and the lady had no empathy or bedside manner, AT ALL. Apparently the infusion takes 4 hours itself, which I had absolutely no idea, so the entire appointment should take 5 hours. None of this was explained to me when I made the appointment. She also said I couldn't bring anybody with me. Which was also not explained when I made the appointment. I had several questions and she just kept talking over me, cutting me off and not even explaining anything to me. They need new receptionists at this center. I cancelled my appointment and I am calling my physician to find me ANY where else to go. I can't believe the unprofessionalism and nastiness of their receptionists. I'm blown away.

Very  rude, and unprofessional. I will NEVER go to the center located at 30 Duke Medicine Circle again. Nurse Hannah was nice, but I could tell she was new to the job. Katia, the old, experienced nurse helping me was on an ego trip. I told her that I had anxiety about getting my iron infusion, but she only made it worse. She picked on me about not wearing a mask(while I was eating SMH) . When I called her out because several more people who were not eating didn't have on a mask, she started ignoring me. Stacey, another employee,  saw what was going on and made me feel somewhat calm. The other thing is that there was an 8 month plus pregnant patient sitting beside me. This woman had no self respect or respect for others. She sat there with her shirt pulled up and her stomach exposed. She kept rubbing her big stomach and the staff never asked her to cover up and be respectful of others. The woman stood up at one point, telling everyone she was going to the bathroom and I almost got sick. She had her stomach exposed and was wearing biker shorts, This was a site worse than anything you could imagine, truly disgusting. I should not have had to look at that. The only word that comes to mind is STANK.
