Her clinical interests include consultation-liaison psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and the connection between mental and physical health. She is particularly interested in helping patients understand how psychiatric symptoms may relate to other medical conditions. Dr. Seikunas takes a whole-person approach to psychiatric care. In addition to her training in evidence-based medication management for psychiatric conditions, she is interested in incorporating complementary approaches such as breathwork and meditation when appropriate. She works collaboratively with patients to understand their individual experiences, goals and needs and develop treatment approaches that are sustainable for them. Dr. Seikunas earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. She then completed her psychiatry residency at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, New Jersey. During her training, she held several leadership positions. She served as executive chief resident from 2025 to 2026, overseeing clinical, educational and administrative functions within the residency program. She previously served as co-chief resident for medical student education, developing initiatives to enhance medical student training. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Seikunas believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to psychiatry. She views care as a partnership and takes time to understand each patient’s experiences and priorities. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or a quick solution, she seeks to help patients better understand themselves, build resilience and work toward their personal goals. She values collaboration with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team to support both mental and physical well-being. Dr. Seikunas is fluent in English. When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys practicing yoga, spending time at the beach and reading fantasy books. Read more
