The words under each chart are plain. You can pick up a guitar and begin playing on the same day. Each chord starts with a picture. Then a short list shows you where each finger goes. The list names the string, the fret, and the finger. It also tells you which strings to skip and which strings to play open. The fret numbers are the real numbers on the neck, so you do not have to guess. The chart looks right on a computer and on a phone. Start with eight easy chords: C, G, D, E minor, A minor, E, A, and F. These shapes appear in a lot of songs. After that, you can open any other chord and read it the same way. A brief page describes the marks. An x means do not play that string. A 0 means play it open, with no finger down. The numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 are your fingers, from index to pinky. You do not need to sign up to see a chart. Major chords sound brighter. Minor chords sound darker. The rest is just the shape. GuitarChords.net is for beginners. That can be a young person picking up a first song, or a grown-up who is new to the guitar. Read more
