I have been refreshing my LPN license at Norquest College in Edmonton for the past year or 2. Since enrolling, I have had nothing but trouble from the administrative staff. This includes everyone from the cashiers in the main office, to the administrative staff in the LPN program itself. The communication between their staff is very poor. You get told something from someone and the very same day get told something different from another staff member. Of course when you ask for clarification, somebody else is always at fault or somebody else was misinformed or somebody else didn't charge you the appropriate fee. Very frusterating! When you pay for a service(education) you expect professionalism.
That being said, the actual instructors were fine. They were knowledgeable and were professional regarding their communication with the students. They actually seemed to understand that we as students are trying to accomplish something very important and can not afford to have mix up after mix up which really plays havoc on the rest of your life.
All i can say is the administration is really slack and you'd be hard pressed to find someone within' those departments who are willing to help you get through the program with little complications and with some enjoyment so you can walk away feeling satisfied that you had a good experience. I would seriously look into a different college if you are looking to be an LPN.
