There is a zero star option, i would have picked it. This company is running a scam. Avoid at all cost. Multiple items are damaged after the move, and when we submit claim for insurance. They told us we only had 7 days after the move to submit. But there was no such terms for 7 days in the contract. When we contacted the management for assistance, we are being ignored.

I reluctantly chose to use Mid-West Moving & Storage Services Inc. for a second time, despite some reservations from my first experience. Initially, things seemed fine; during my first move with them, the process was acceptable, and Agnes, the representative I worked with, was quite helpful and responsive to any questions I had. Her customer service made me feel confident enough to give the company another chance. However, my recent experience was far from satisfactory and has left me regretting that decision.

This time around, the delivery was delayed for more than two months. Such an extensive delay was not only frustrating but also caused a great deal of inconvenience and stress. There was little communication from the company during this period, leaving me in the dark about the status of my belongings for weeks. This lack of transparency and accountability made an already stressful situation even worse.

When my items finally arrived which arrived in batches, I was shocked by the condition in which they were delivered. Several of my belongings were damaged, with some items visibly broken, and others appearing to have been mishandled. To make matters worse, I discovered that some of the boxes had rodent droppings inside, suggesting that they had been exposed to pests during storage or transit. Boxes that were packed, and sealed properly were delivered damaged and crumbled. This was not only disappointing but also concerning, as it raised questions about the company’s storage conditions and how they handle their clients' possessions.

I expected a certain level of professionalism and care from Mid-West Moving & Storage Services Inc. especially from the owner, since I was a returning customer. Unfortunately, they did not meet those expectations. The extensive delays, lack of communication, lies, damaged property, and evidence of rodents in the boxes have all contributed to a negative experience that I would not wish on anyone else.

If you value your belongings and peace of mind, I strongly advise against using Mid-West Moving & Storage Services Inc. There are other moving companies that are more reliable and professional, and I suggest exploring those options instead. This company’s poor handling of my move has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I would not recommend their services to anyone.

If you are looking for a company that destroys your furniture and doesn’t have a good insurance policy, then look no further you have found the one ! Mid-West moving will say things “ I promise, I’m not a liar like other companies!” That should have been my cue to run in the other direction. Mid-West moving out in zero care into carefully moving my furniture after I meticulously packed everything. I would never go with this company ever again, and would not advise you to either. Spend the extra money, read the liability insurance policies, and get everything in writing.

DO NOT USE. Caused over a thousand dollars in damages, even after paying a special handling fee of $550 for a vintage motorcycle. Gouges and tears in leather seats and paint, broken furniture, and torn boxes. Their insurance company straight up ignored us even when provided with before and after pictures.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! Overcharged, unorganized and MANY broken and damaged items. I tried to get ahold of someone and they essentially blew me off. Rude and even making defamatory statements about me. Horrific experience. If you can move yourself you'll not only save money but the absolute worst experience. Zero professionalism. As soon as I had a problem they avoided me. There aren't enough bad things I can say about this company. My sister has cancelled her move with Mid West movers. And there are two others who were going to book with them, but not now. Awful, just awful. The photos are just a few of the items completely destroyed. There were MANY more. Antiques and family heirlooms scratched and ruined. One of the employees said I should have taken detailed photos, before the move, and sent them in an email as proof they were damaged by their company. Wow! Unbelievable. Don't even bother with this Clown show. And based on the other reviews there is no point in trying to get any money for compensation. A complete joke. 0 stars.

We had to sort all of the items by destination, and the crew got it 100% correct, so when we got to each place, the unload was super fast, and we didn't have to re-organize anything! I'd find it hard to believe that any other team of movers could do the job faster than they did. The 3 person crew was in perpetual motion, working as a team to simultaneously (un)pack/wrap and lift as necessary, which saved a lot of time compared to having two people.

The team was amazing with preparation and made sure we were on the same page during the time leading up to the move. Once the moving day came, the crew showed up right on time, were all friendly, and worked quickly but carefully - everything ran extremely smoothly. I have moved many times through the military and most times I would always have something broken, damaged etc. Mid-West Moving & Storage Services was the best movers I have ever seen. I’ll start by saying they quoted us a much lower price than some of the other movers, and were very flexible with our moving date because the closing on our house moved twice. The workers were extremely careful and courteous. They worked quickly and ensured the move was as painless as possible or for me and my family. I highly recommend them.

My experience with this company was horrible
I hired them to transfer my house furniture from Oshawa, ON to Calgary, AB
I asked them if I can book specific date and time to pick up my stuff and they said yes ( yes was the answer of any question before sending the deposit) they didn’t come on time and after about an hour of waiting I called the person in-charge of the job, he rudely told me I’m busy now, I’ll come to you after I finish my current job or I’ll cancel your job, I don’t care
After delivery, I was shocked with the amount of damaged and lost stuff . Almost all wooden furniture was broken and clearly they handled it extremely carelessly but their reasoning was that “ you have week furniture “ and this is not covered by insurance.
They never respond to mails and calls after delivery ( they used to call me twice daily and send an email daily to follow up with me before sending the deposit )

Stay far, far away from this company. If I could give them a negative star rating I would.

TLDR: They lost some of our belongings, smashed our belongings, couldn't follow a schedule, wouldn't take our calls and wouldn't compensate us for our losses.

In depth version: They were hours late for pickup without letting us know. When delivering, they randomly showed up to deliver our boxes, even though we tried to book a specific time as we had to book the elevator at our new apartment. When they showed up, they only brought half of our belongings and tried to get us to sign off that we received all of them. It took a while to track down the second half, and it turns out it was in a different loading dock. It showed up a few days later in horrible condition.

We watched them wrap our furniture up in blankets as they left, but when they unloaded our items from the truck nothing was wrapped. Most of our boxes were squished and split open, all of our furniture was dinged up, and some of it had some mysterious oily substance spilled all over it (see the photos of the boxes and dresser). Some of the furniture was delivered in multiple pieces, even though it wasn't meant to come apart. Some of it was wrapped in tape to keep it together. A new tool kit had the latches completely ripped off. Some of the fragile boxes that clearly said "this way up" and "fragile" were delivered into our apartment upside down, and at the bottom of the pile. We had to throw out some of our furniture as it was completely smashed, and our couch had grease marks on it. Our belongings looked like they were in a car crash at some point.

When we tried to lodge a complaint, we were given the run around, rarely having anyone answer our calls. We had to threaten to call lawyers before they responded, and when we asked for our insurance payout, they told us the deductible would be higher than what we would be paid out, meaning that the insurance premium we paid was completely useless. If this company paid for all the things they lost or broke, they would be completely bankrupt.

Don't use this company. Be aware.
- They destroyed most of my furniture because they did not rap the furniture with blankets as their contract states.
- My move was in July 2017 from Calgary, AB to Mississauga, ON. They have the most unprofessional and unexperienced moving team. They spent more than 7 hours on the day of move from Calgary, the crew was loud and they had several fights among themselves. They were out of rapping blankets after just few and they said that they will rap it later, but they didn't.
- The furniture arrived to Mississauga but most of it was severely damaged, not just scratches. some things were totally broken and some totally ruined.
- I called them afterward. their insurance is a joke, they compensate for damaged weight ($0.6/ damaged pound) after $350 deductible. Even with that, they did not proceed with insurance, I asked for some refund because the damage was their fault and they hanged the phone in my face. I talked to Sue, before the move she was very nice and answers everything quickly and seemed professional. After the move, she turned into this horrible unprofessional person. They run a scamming business. They did not send me the weight slip and I'm sure they charged me alot more than my stuff's weight. I asked for the scale slip few time, and they did not send it.
