I recently stopped in the Merivale store location, on a day of searching through all the ski shops in Ottawa to determine price points, and quality of knowledge, as I was planning to spend quite a bit of money on new Alpine equipment. I had already stopped at three different independent's before arriving at Merivale. I was greatly by a very happy staff, and was serviced by one of the most knowledgeable staff I have ever dealt with. I come from a racing background, and was thoroughly impressed, therefore purchased my equipment then and there without hesitation. Strongly recommended.

A salesperson tried to sell me a jacket that was not suited for my needs, claiming that no jacket is both waterproof and breathable. It would have been better for him to just state that no, they don't sell Gore-Tex jackets. Now I'll avoid this store completely.
