I hired the Services of SuperDuct cleaning to clean my Air Ducts + Perform a thorough Chimney sweep of my 2 fireplaces in September, 2008.
In December 2008, my family used the basement Chimney and instantly suffered from a backlog of smoke in our basement fireplace. I suspect that it's partially due to the Chimney flue not opening more than 1 or 2 inches...but as an inexperienced fireplace owner, I didn't know.
I called Omar at SuperDuct to inform him that the basement chimney is very dirty. He recalled the service he performed at my house and notified me that he was unable to clean it...and that he had trouble opening my Chimney flue to fit his chimney broom.
What troubles me is that Omar charged my wife the $125 to perform the Chimney cleaning for the basement....even though no cleaning was performed and he didn't notify us either.
I would trust SuperDuct to use their powerful vacuums to clean air ducts or carpets.
STAY AWAY from this Company for any Chimney Cleaning related services and as they are extremely unprofessional and will rob you if they can.

They charged you 125 for chimney sweep that was not done! You should get your money back!

When Omar stated that he was unable to clean the basement Chimney, I informed him that he was paid for the service and that he needs to finish the job.... At that time, he completely changed his story and said that he did actually clean the Chimney! I can gaurantee you that he didn't for 2 reasons: 1) You couldn't stick a real Chimney sweep/broom in a Chimney flue that doesn't open more than 1 or 2 inches 2) A flashlight inspection has revealed that there is a ton of soot sitting in the base of the flue...nothing has been cleaned or vacuumed here... Is it worth taking someone to court over this? I don't think so....but perhaps I can save somebody $125 (or more) for SuperDuct services.

I really think that some service jobs should be paid after the work is done...
