Dr. Marg Wood has owned Parkland veterinary clinic since 1995. She is a graduate of the Western College Of Veterinary Medicine (1994). Presently she owns 3 dogs and 3 horses. She has a very large family with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While she has wanted to be a veterinarian… Dr. Marg Wood has owned Parkland veterinary clinic since 1995. While she has wanted to be a veterinarian all her life, she was unable to pursue her chosen career until later in life. Marg raised her children in Spruce Grove and Bartended at a local hotel in the early 80s. She often jokes that she needed to wait until the youngest of 7 children was old enough to make his own lunch before she could go back to school. Dr. Wood’s interests outside of the clinic include her family, gardening and more recently photography and travel. For the first 15 years of practice, she managed the clinic alone. I would highly recommend Parkland Vet Clinic. I experienced kindness, compassion, and empathy not only for my best friend but for myself as well as I had to say farewell to my Abbie girl who was in my life for the past 12 of her 15 years. It's not easy by any means to do something like this, the Vet himself is a kind wonderful person... thank you Parkland for helping us through this extremely difficult time.

I used to volunteer at this clinic about 5 years ago, now I have pets and kids of my own. My kids are a handful but they are made as welcome here as my pets are. Dr Wood let them each listen to our kitty's heart with her stethoscope. She explained to them (very Basically) what the heart does and they were both amazed. She showed them good ways of handling and holding their kitty...which they needed to have explained. The cat had a thorough exam and Dr Marg was as kind as I remembered her. It says a lot that all her staff (except for the young lady at the front) were there a long time already when I was there 5 years ago. I always felt like they were one big family

Last Friday a sick stray kitty wandered into my yard. She was so thin and almost completely bald from her mid back up her tail :(. In between sobbing from kitty heartbreak, as I currently did not have the funds to rush her off the the vet, my boyfriend help me call around. We were hoping a sanctuary could take or at least help her, but no luck. We took her to Parkland and they were helpful and friendly.

The vet techs are also very good. You get the feeling at AVH that Dr. Wood has very high standards because the techs always seem to be focused and careful (and knowledgeable). The office I've known the longest but the others are great as well) are friendly, compassionate, patient and provide great customer service. They are terrific about remembering my name and my dogs' names and they really seem happy to see my pets when we come in. I always get a follow up call to check on my dogs, even if I've been there for something routine.

We had a difficult situation with an aggressive dog, who could be the sweetest thing if you were her friend. The staff here took the extra safety measures, never complained about her growling, worked with us to determine if it were chemical and treatable, and when we had to make the most difficult decision in the world, they let me stay in the room with her and have time to myself.
