I love my Vet .. but can no longer longer deal with service at front desk .. like pulling teeth or worse just to book an appointment... imagine that I don't know my pets need an appointment and I am being told one of them doesn't ... too bad as Dr McFadden is awesome to deal with .
Not first time with horrible service so time to move along .
beware ...

Any veterinary clinic should not charge for repeat visits day after day with a pet who is very sick and needs follow up. $400 on Monday, $300 on Tuesday and another $200 on Friday. It's ridiculous. They are all about the money, not the animals. God forbid you get one of the nasty receptionists or vets!!! Shameful really.

Have been going there with our pets for the last 17 years. Dr. Richards and the other vets that were there when we started were amazing--too bad she (and others) retired! Since they have moved to the new building the prices have gone up and the qulity of care and compassion have gone down. Sad, we used to walk in and everyone knew us and greeted us, we felt welcome. The last visit, we barely got a hello from behind the counter, and the vet was less friendly! Our pets are important parts of our family, they deserve the best care....and unfortunately this is not where to get it anymore. We have since found a wonderful vet, and we are very satisfied.

I have been going to this vet for approx 15 yrs with different animals. Our last three visits since they moved were terrible !!! Bad service, overpriced and surgery that was unacceptable. Not once but twice. Would love to post the pictures of my dogs neck to show you, It looks like I did the job myself and the charged me $450. UNBELIEVABLE
The surgery was done by one of the owners, it just shows how they don't care anymore.

My cat recently developed some strange bumps under his chin. I was concerned and called around to find who has the best price in my area for a complete checkup. I was told that this hospital did a full exam for something like 70 dollars roughly. This was the best price I had found, so I made an appointment. I went in, and the vet checked under my cat's chin, and explained what the bumps might be, and gave me a prescription. He then said I'm all done, and left. I was told that for the price I was paying that it was a full examination. He didn't check my cat's heartbeat, ears, nose, mouth, or anything. I paid 70 dollars for him to touch my cat's chin and send me on my way. I believe that if they said the price is for a full examination, that I should have recieved one. I'd rather pay a bit more and go the place I used to go: Cat Clinic of Niagara. The service is much better there.

I have been taking my pets to Hartzel Animal Hospital for many many years and will continue to do so. I read the comment one person put about them being shaddy and couldn't disagree more. Great vets, great staff, great pet care.

I give them a 4 out of 5 because i did have to wait longer than i would of liked, but it was worth the wait, the doctor took her time and explained everything to me. My cat has a kidney condition and now that she is on her medications and her special food she is doing great. I was even shown how to do fluid therapy at home rather than stressing her out by having to bring her in once a week. All staff has been very helpful through this and Smokey thanks them to!

this vet was terrible!!! since they moved they raised their visit charges without informing me. I took my dog in for her annual vaccination and could not BELIEVE what what added onto my bill without informing me! I ended up walking out paying $300!!! Also when i got there i was in the waiting room for about 20 minutes. The vet didnt discuss or explain anything to me she just went along doing stuff and added it to the bill! Never taking my dog back there again! their shaddy!
