I brought my cat here to see Dr. Iraei for scratching below the eyes. He said it was an eye infection and prescribed a topical medication. Two days after finishing the treatment the exact same symptoms returned. I brought him back to the same vet. He still said it was an eye infection and precribed another topical treatment and gave my cat an antibiotic shot.He also said that if this round of treatment didn't work, it would mean a blockage of the tear ducts, and my cat would need an operation. Again, two days after treatment ended, exact same symptoms returned. Before getting the operation on my cat, I sought a second opinion from a vet at a clinic that specializes in cats. She said my cat didn't have infection or blockage, just irritation from dust. All my cat needed was to have the area cleaned daily with inexpensive eye-wipes. This has worked well. When I asked Dr. Iraei if he would refund my money for the two appointments and medications, since he misdiagnosed my cat, he completely refused and even denied that he was wrong!

In May I exchanged a few emails with Lansdowne A.H. when issues arose for my beloved Bud and I needed to find a vet that would do an at home. On Saturday, August 15 I spoke to Meaghan to arrange such a visit. She was to speak to the vet and confirm a date and time and call me back. It is now Wednesday, August 19 and I still haven't heard a word. Sickening - the anxiety for me waiting for a call that never came and for my best friend that I couldn't help. How can you do that? Not so much to the parent of a suffering pet but to the pet themself? I wasn't looking to get his nails trimmed or to get him groomed. I was looking to do the last thing - and most important thing - a pet owner has the responsibility to do - ensure their animal isn't suffering and left languishing in misery which he did for a few days because of uncaring, unprofessional and deplorable incompetence. Bud is now free of his pain and mama did guide him to The Rainbow Bridge thanks to real professionals who took their mandate seriously. Lansdowne Animal Hospital - you should be ashamed of yourself!

I disagree with you. My 5 cats, one of whom I lost a year and a half ago, were treated with great care, and my experience with the staff was always welcoming and compassionate. I think if I made a call out of great concern for my beloved pet, and didn't hear back immediately or by the next day, I would phone back. I know part of the communication is the responsibility of the hospital, for sure, but I wouldn't take what happened as the norm. Sorry you feel you had a bad experience.
