DMV saved my cats' lives on four different occasions. First, when my female showed signs of diabetes on a holiday weekend when my regular vet's office was closed. The second was when she knocked over a can of turpentine and was drenched. The vets and technicians acted quickly and saved her life. However, it was very, very expensive. Another time, when my own vet couldn't find out the cause of the problem, I took my cat to DMV and they found a hole in his tongue from biting on a sharp feather. The fourth time, some years later, this same male cat was having trouble breathing and my vet (a different vet) asked me to take the cat there immediately, where he was placed in an oxygen chamber. It took three days and $3,000.00 in tests before they diagnosed a congenital--and fatal--heart ailment. Aside from the cost, I was very unhappy that a catheter placed in his leg became infected before he left and they did nothing to treat it, claiming it would get better on its own. It certainly did not. The cost was exorbitant, so be prepared to spend $500.00+ for any visit. However, if I hadn't taken him, I wouldn't have known if there was a chance to save his life, and I had to try. But for someone who doesn't have the money, this may not be an option. This clinic is really for serious emergencies, so expect to wait when it's busy and be prepared to spend.
