Having previously gone to a number of other stores, and been poked, prodded and judged by the sales lady at each, Kindred Spirit was a sigh of relief. The ladies were wonderful and effortlessly dealt with their customers with welcoming grins despite how extremely busy their store was. They made each girl feel like a model in whatever dress they chose and did not push anyone to try anything they were not comfortable in. I love the dress I got and highly recommend anyone looking for a dress, for prom, grad, or any other special occasion, to check out their store.

Everything was going fine, ladies were actually nice and helpful...UNTIL I tried on a pair of shoes the sales ladies didn't think i should get because they were a half size too big. OK i wanted to see what they would look like on, how high they are, If I liked them enough to try and find that pair in my size or not bother. One sales lady literally went to physically take them off of me until i stopped her. I actually had to ask her if I'm not allowed to buy them just because they are a little big. Then when I was told they couldn't order my size i wanted to write down the name of them so I could try and find them myself online and as i was reaching for a pen in my purse she took them away from me even though i told her i just wanted to write down the name. It was just so shocking to me being treated like I was going to steal them or something. I don't appreciate someone trying to physically remove things off of me. Never going there again, it's a shame because I liked the dress and the price and would have bought it after that I would not give them my business. Ended up buying a dress in another store that day.

Me and my mom went looking for dresses here and right away they started helping us and helped me find the most amazing dress! It was so nice that we had to take my twin back later and she found a dress as well. They also helped us with alterations. The made the experience so easy! The ladies are also super nice and honest about the dress, they won't try and force a dress on you just to sell it. They have a great selection of styles and colours.

We had a wonderful experience shopping for a prom dress here and would highly recommend it. We went on a Saturday and it was very busy with others shopping for prom dresses and grad dresses but they have such efficient staff and a wonderful system that handled the crowd so well. All staff members were not only helpful but all so friendly and made the task of getting a dress for my daughter so much fun! If you are in need of a dress I can assure you that your chances are good with getting one here as they have an awesome selection! Thank you so much to all the staff for making this such a great experience. It is well worth the drive and we will definitely be back!

We have shopped at this shop for four years now, starting with my daughter's grade 8 graduation dress. We live by Owen Sound and we took the two hour drive to check out this shop based on a reference and were not disappointed. We bought a one of kind dress for that graduation. Since then, we have found pageant dresses for Ambassador contests (their range of colours, styles and price ranges is quite amazing, considering the square footage of the shop!) and a lovely cocktail dress for a wedding. Next, it will be a prom dress and this will be the shop that we will start, and mostly likely, finish the hunt for the right one. We found the service to be wonderful: helpful, but not pushy, very knowledgeable and just the right amount of flattery when required. Good sales. An excellent experience!

The dresses are decent prices and decent quality but the staff is always smoking in the doorway so whenever I go to shop it smells so bad I have to leave! At least ask your employeees to stand away from the front door!

I went into kindred spirit last night. I was looking for a grad dress for my daughter but I wanted to check the selection and prices before bringing my daughter in. First of all dresses were sorted by colour which made my life easier since I was originally looking for a blue dress. The prices were excellent, especially for the quality. I mentioned I wouldn't be able to get the dress she wanted because it was out of my very limited budget and guess what..... They have layaway!!! So great for working and non working parents! You can secure the dress you want! We went back tonight to get her dress and again the customer service did not disappoint! The owner is lovely and adds the perfect bit of humour. The other lady working was also very knowledgeable and super nice. A great level of professionalism. I am a plus size woman (in most stores) but in this store I am not. No more shopping at overpriced plus size stores for a special occasion! I found a few dresses I love and now I will be going there when I am ready to buy one. This will be "our store" from now on.. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else from now on. Well done to the owner and staff at kindred spirit :) Tasha :)

When we first walked into Kindred Spirit, it was packed with excited customers. I was intimidated at first. I thought we'd be in the store for hours. But the dresses were gorgeous, even organized by colour and the service was SO fast and friendly. We were in and out in an hour, although there were at least 8 other people ahead of us. They even bothered to learn my name and check that no one at my school had the same dress that I did to avoid same dress catastrophe. And the employees matched my dress with earrings at half price! By far the best dress shopping experience of my life!!! Thanks to Kindred Spirit, I now have the dress of my dreams.

I saw a black strapless dress in the Window on the Monday they were closed. I went back the next day to try it on my lunch hour. The girls were amazing! when I told them what the dress was for they started pulling different styles for me to get some ideas. I ended up purchasing the black dress I fell in love with! The girls were really helpful and I found that everytime I came out in a dress they always had positive comments but would also tell the truth what looked better. example; "This would be great if you wanted to look cute and blend in with everyone else but the other dress looked fantastic and everyone will be blown away when you walk in the room" that made me feel good because it was the true feedback I was looking for! I just want to say thank you to the girls that helped me that day! they have asked me to bring in a picture once I have one.. and I will be doing so!

As a person who wears jeans most of the time and avoids malls at all costs, I was dreading shopping for my son's upcoming wedding in June. I didn't want a traditional mother of the bride/groom dress, but at the same time I wanted to look my best for this very special occasion. I went to Kindred Spirits as I prefer a smaller, more intimate shopping experience and what a wonderful experience I had! I made several trips to the shop and was so relieved to have staff who seemed to understand my needs immediately. They were very caring and sensitive to this non shopper! They patiently helped me try on a number of styles and were honest and supportive about the one that suited me best. I now have a dress I feel wonderful in, complete with earrings, purse and shoes. Now that's my kind of shopping! I would highly recommend Kindred Spirits for your special occasions and want to thank the staff for all your support!

This is a very well organized store that expertly serves the needs of those seeking dresses for formal or semi-formal occasions. My daughter found the PERFECT dress for her Grade 8 graduation on the first try, (and all the adults knew it) but the ladies serving her were very patient when she returned and tried on a few more dresses before making the big purchase!
Compared to other stores in the K-W and London area offering grad dresses, I found the selection and quality at Kindred Spirits to be superior. There are a variety of price points to choose from, but even the higher priced dresses were still substantially better deals than the competition.
The service was excellent - knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind, as well as very respectful of what a big deal the purchase of a dream dress is to a 14-year-old!
With three young ladies in the family, I know we will definitely be returning to Kindred Spirits for special occasion dresses!

Went there to pick out bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. The saleslady knew exactly what we were looking for and we left there with not only the dresses but shoes as well in about half an hour. Super experience and I will be back for sure.

And they always make sure you leave the store happy and knowing you're dress if PERFECT.
& then make sure people don't end up with the same dress (In you're school.)
+ You don't have to worry about you're dress being werked , Cause you can bring it in to get it dry cleaned before you're big day!,

Can anyone provide me with Kindred Spirits' business hours? It has always been one of my favourite dress shops, great selection, pricing and excellent service, definitely a one of a kind find in the Waterloo area. I am hopeful that their boutique website will be updated soon. I loved their dresses my cousin got her confermation dress there for only 105 $! Including the sash, diamond necklace and earings to match. They have great prices! I am definetly going there for prom dresses with my friends and wedding.
