On Sunday afternoon we drove from Niagara-On-the-Lake to St Catharines for an early dinner at the Mandarin. I've only been to the one at Yonge and Eglinton so I was excited to see if they all looked the same. Well, they are not! This one had a theme.. they had a pond with plants and flowers at the entrance, it was really nice! The dining room that we were in looked like the ocean with sea green walls and tablecloths I think that the colourful fish on the walls were a bit much...:) I started off with my usual Plate-o-meat..with bacon, ham and sausages. I tried the fresh shrimp salad.. it was great! with baby shrimp, chopped celery and spices. Next I had a plate of fruit with honeydew melon, ripe pineapple, watermelon and kiwi. I wasn't going to eat anymore until I saw the sushi.. which were quite tiny about the size of a quarter so I had 2 shrimp tempura and 2 california rolls.
I always thought that the Mandarin at Yonge and Eglinton had the best customer service but it seems that The Mandarin in St Catharines has amazing customer service too. Our server who told us his name was Robin was sooo nice, our glasses were always full. When we were finished our meal we were brought the trademark Mandarin hot towel that smells like lemons and of course.. fortune cookies. If you are looking for a great buffet with outstanding customer service, think Mandarin!

they have all kinds of food at this chinese place.. i had breakfast for dinner.. breakfast sausages, bacon, ham.. it was awesome!
