The animals are housed in state of… Indian River Reptile Zoo is unique in Canada and is one of the most modern and exciting specialized animal centres in the world! Here you can see snakes, lizards, monitors, alligators, turtles, crocodiles, and even special guest animals such as monkeys and more! The animals are housed in state of the art, climate controlled facilities which were specifically designed to house reptiles. Many of the animals at Indian River Reptile Zoo have been rescued from the pet trade. This includes confiscations by the Federal Government of Canada, Human Societies, Animal Controls, or people simply donating their pet because they can no longer accommodate it. We also acquire animals from others major zoos around the world. We do NOT take animals from the wild; and, we do NOT buy or sell reptiles. Read more
